Treston is not cheap but it is well made, space optimised and solid. I have the 550-3 storages that has 60 drawers in only 550mm height and each drawer can be split in 6 spaces, this mean 360 compartments in one piece of furniture! I have 3 of those now. www.treston.com/storage-syst...

I've created #opensource addons for the Treston small parts storage system. These consist of dividers, front label clips, internal labels, icons and pre-made labels for Brother printers. Icons are designed for quick identification: a single image and large text. ➡️ codeberg.org/gregsaun/tre...

On the left side of the drawer there is a thin printed part all along with screw length written for each spaces.Photo of an exploded view of all parts. On the left we have the long internal divider. In the middle-top there is a shorter divider, followed below by a standard size divider, followed by a front label clip and in the middle-bottom is an example of a printed label. This fork is based on 2 researches: - Overhangs modulation: arxiv.org/pdf/1805.01375 - Color Contoning: cdfg.mit.edu/publications... ⚠️ This uses Claude AI and I normally avoid due to ethical concerns. However, the research papers and the results are important to understand how 3D printing evolve.

A new OrcaSlicer fork with innovative solutions for printing in colors. It uses overhangs to hide a previous color and require a single tool change per layer, reducing time and waste. GitHub: github.com/sentientstar... YGK3D explain in detail how it works : www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5cv...
Vertical print of The Great Wave off Kanagawa, Katsushika HokusaiTwo colourful cats in colours with their right paw up. The left one has a patchwork style of colours while the right one has smooth vertical transitions of pink, yellow and blue with black patterns.A detail of the right cat of the previous image where we can see overhangs dropping to make the color change.Impressive jaguar in white, yellow and black. The white is transitioning a smoothly and the black is well contrasted. The belly looks great knowing it was printed with support. The tail is unfortunately missing, it has probably broken during the print

Yeah I understand your goal and it makes sense. I was more thinking aloud after having watch your video. Oh maybe, with the screw as you have, file the screw diameter at the last top thread? This would be easy potentially improve pellets entry. Again thinking aloud, you can ignore me 😅

Greg Saunier @gregsaunier.bsky.social · 11/07/2026
Yeah I don't know how to do it either, I was just thinking that if the tip could be on too and the wider thread at the bottom it could potentially be more efficient. It would require to cut the screw and solder something on the tip. Otherwise you could make your screw with a lathe and hardened it.

Greg Saunier @gregsaunier.bsky.social · 11/07/2026
Very visual explanation of the difficulties of pellets/powder, well done. It would be great if you could flip the screw to have the tip at the entry of the pellets, it would provide more space for them to be catched.

Now an important problem you mention is that you can unscrew the nozzle while the grub screw is tight, this will inevitably cause issues as you have a lot of force like that. For me this is a design flaw/limitation so it's good Prusa replaced the nozzle.
000
Greg Saunier @gregsaunier.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
So you can imagine that the inozzle needs to resist to 300N (3x margin) so even a small press can do it and save a lot of time compared to heating the nozzle tip. Would be interesting to know if they heat up or not because it could be an improvement. ⤵️
100
Greg Saunier @gregsaunier.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
It's also possible that they don't heat up and simply machine the right clearances (there are standards and tables for that) because it's much faster! An extruder needs around 100N (10kg) force before something slip, over that it is not really useful (issues is elsewhere if you reach that). ⤵️
100
Greg Saunier @gregsaunier.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
I'm not a machinist but the clearance, even when the hotend tip is warmed up, is still very tight (you still need a press) so I'm not sure adding something like light knurling or "screw shape" would be possible without deforming the thread on the outside. ⤵️
