A new OrcaSlicer fork with innovative solutions for printing in colors. It uses overhangs to hide a previous color and require a single tool change per layer, reducing time and waste. GitHub: github.com/sentientstar... YGK3D explain in detail how it works : www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5cv...

The left one has a patchwork style of colours while the right one has smooth vertical transitions of pink, yellow and blue with black patterns.A detail of the right cat of the previous image where we can see overhangs dropping to make the color change.Impressive jaguar in white, yellow and black. The white is transitioning a smoothly and the black is well contrasted. The belly looks great knowing it was printed with support. The tail is unfortunately missing, it has probably broken during the print

I was reflecting on 3D printer motion algorithms and I remembered this image. Klipper uses trapezoidal, RRF & Marlin can do S-Curve and the new Prunt firmware can be even smoother! With input shaping we are prioritizing the wrong dev! ➡️ Read more on my blog: ekunn.com/blog/2026/05... #3dprinting
This is screenshot of a Trinamic video with beer glasses sliding back and forth. The screenshot is at the moment where the glasses stop and change direction. The top one has the top surface of the beer almost flat and correspond to a S-Curve algorithm. The bottom almost put beer out of the glass and correspond to trapezoidal algorithm.
