I finally saw Ken Russell’s The Devils in 2014. It was in the hacked up US version from 1971, but still very powerful. Next week I get to see the version Russell intended in a spanking shinny restored Director’s Cut. Can’t wait. #FilmBlueSky #DirectorsCut #Films

OTD in 1941 The Maltese Falcon written and directed by John Huston and based on Dashiell Hammet’s novel was release in New York. Starring Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor it’s been called the first film noir. A perfect example of the genre.

Garritt Graham passed away. For me the DS9 episode Captive Pursuit was really the moment when I thought there was something special about this new show. It’s a standard The Deadliest Game riff, but there is something great in the performances of Graham and Scott McDonald. RIP

DS9 rewatch. Garak edition Improbable CauseThe Die is Cast. Garak’s shop is blown up and his and Odo’s investigation leads to a conspiracy involving Garak’s mentor on a mission to attack the Dominion. Any Garak episode is alway good value, but when he’s sparring with Odo it’s all gold 9/10. 🖖
