Yes to be clear agreed they're transparent on their coding (even if it's imperfect IMO). Overall it's important work, glad you're calling attention to it (you're how I found it!). As someone who does a lot of interfaith work (coded here as "civility industry" which is interesting)...much to consider

@tressiemcphd.bsky.social I combed through their whole dataset static1.squarespace.com/static/697aa.... First, caution: there's some iffy labeling/conflating. Like one foundation funds Bend the Arc & a group for Trans Latinas but is here because also, Hillel. But the overall pattern is interesting!

I'm going to need someone to do a wellness check on Chris Olah of Anthropic. He does not come across well -- in either sense of the word -- in this new article. Then again, neither does any theologian or religious leader who attended these meetings without irony. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/29/u...

My campus chaplain colleagues and I have to sign a non-proselytizing agreement, because certain religious leaders want to do little more than preach at people and try to convert them. But you'll rarely see proselytizing as fanatical as this AI cult stuff.

I probably should not have read this. The sterile language of this timeline only heightens the effect. There are so many layers of anger, but the “afforded the opportunity to mitigate their conduct by submitting essays to CORNELL” part hits me where I live. I have measured out my life in essays…

"When I'm critical of human rights abuses of Russia, that does not mean I am critical of people who believe in the Russian Orthodox Church...when I’m critical of the human rights abuses of Israel, that does not mean anything against anyone of any religion." Well said, @tommorelloofficial.bsky.social
Like I said, courage is contagious. I am a proponent of human rights for everyone. When I am critical of the human rights abuses of Russia, that does not mean that I am critical of people who believe in the Russian Orthodox Church. When I’m critical of human rights abuses of Saudi Arabia, that does not mean that I’m critical of people who believe in Islam.

“When I’m critical of human rights abuses of England, that does not mean I’m critical of people who believe in the Church of England. And when I’m critical of the human rights abuses of Israel, that does not mean anything against anyone of any religion. I want there to be peace, justice, equality and human rights across the board. And whenever that peace, justice or human rights are transgressed, it’s my duty to stand up against it.”

Yes, and also, back in the day artists wrote songs that were about absolutely nothing, it was more understandable because the musical genre was still being invented. But now when artists like Ed Sheeran build careers on vapidity and platitudes, that is on them. Buh bye

Speaking as someone who was there in the early 2000s, blogs weren't slop. Some of them were CRAP, but it was all HUMAN-MADE. The equivalent of "A.i." slop back then was the SPAM in blog COMMENTS. That was industrialized, automated, scammy bullshit -- just like generative "A.i." now.
