Greg Cohn @gregcohn.bsky.social · 12/10/2026I’d rather they go after the agency heads, crooked judges, elected officials, and actual criminals. This is not a “when they go low, we go high” situation, but retaliation by deporting more people is only going to escalate to a wider blast radius. 041

Greg Cohn @gregcohn.bsky.social · 12/10/2026It’s insane that these aren’t prosecuted as hate crimes to make clear that it’s not something people can do with impunity. Ugh. 020
Greg Cohn @gregcohn.bsky.social · 11/10/2026In retrospect, it seems kinda obvious that data centers are highly visible, extremely immobile, and difficult-to-harden single points of failure 022

Greg Cohn @gregcohn.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I was being sarcastic. They raised VC, so they'll pursue an exit of their own at some point. The point being that the real issue is relying on any emerging software platform creates the same dependency risk. BTW Miro, which I learned about from you and we still use, was also acq. by Bending Spoons. 110

Greg Cohn @gregcohn.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I was sad about Evernote and enjoyed the schadenfreude of the pile-on at the time, but that company had been going downhill for a while despite their “forever independent” mission. Bending Spoons have raised prices but been a better custodian of and have added useful features to the product. 110

Reposted by Greg Cohne.w. niedermeyer @niedermeyer.online · 05/10/2026this isn't some abstract argument either: all of our decades of experience with large, complex safety-critical systems shows that building a safety culture is the only way to manage and mitigate risk responsibly... and that's impossible to reconcile with a longtermist utilitarian perspective 245954
Greg Cohn @gregcohn.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Not whitewashing anyone but in the earlier days of Twitter there was a tremendous amount of investment and care in trust and safety. They didn’t get every policy or situational call right, but they were making an effort. Musk fired a lot of those people and it was clear he was going to. 020
Greg Cohn @gregcohn.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I will never forgive the founders and significant shareholders of Twitter for letting this happen. Selling it to a Nazi oligarch was entirely avoidable. I hope they all sleep poorly on their beds made of money. 1151

Greg Cohn @gregcohn.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I completely agree with this take, but much of the time, people like this DO get away these stances, because no one holds them accountable. Greg Cohn @gregcohn.bsky.social · 16/09/2026At this point it’s at least as much about the power artists have to make a statement with their actions about what’s acceptable by way of limiting expression.
