Neighbor has lost 2 of her 4 chickens in the past few days. Me: do you feed the crows? You gotta feed them, they’ll scare off hawks and protect your hens 🤓🐓

I know of a handful of folks in creative fields who are so desperate for work they’re training AI or working with it some capacity Truly feels like its all by design- make us desperate for money then we train our continued extinction

But it’s mostly the loss of trees that my kids are most heartbroken about… some of their special nooks and hideout in the trails have been destroyed by the logging and the wider roads Beans made in the woods in order to do so

Kid needs a bigger back pack but refuses to go to nearby LLBEAN after living next to their logging & breaking our town’s sound ordinance for the past 3months sounds like a high pitch siren, they often fire it up before 6:30am … Beans is not being a good neighbor and my kids are boycotting 😅🤘

There are so many stories lately about people who died by suicide after falling into emotionally manipulative patterns with chatbots. We rarely get to hear how the people who loved them are coping after an unimaginable, senseless loss. This is one of their stories: www.404media.co/austin-gordo...

Happy September! Here’s a bookshop in Boothbay Harbor for the month of September in my 2026 calendar.

Illustration of a White House lines with yellow wildflowers with bookshelves full of books on the covered front porch. An open flag hangs near the stairs leading up to the porch and a wooden “used books” sign hangs from the porch. Art work by Abigail Gray Swartz

I understand beans own the land, and this is how logging is done but I argue it doesn’t have to be done this way… 3 months of logging is pretty intense for the wildlife & for the humans Did we learn nothing from over fishing? We now have rules about lobsters- why not forests and trees?

Today I learned once again that many of the remaining people on FB lack the ability for meaningful dialogue & reading comprehension had to delete a post about the logging that’s taking place behind our house because people started calling me a nimby instead of engaging w/ my environmental questions

@pressherald.com residents were only notified of this 3 month project by a few signs posted near the entrance to these trails…not even a flyer in the mailbox. When we pointed this out we were told that would have been a lot of work to send mailers. we can’t use the trails or have our windows open

000

Abigail Gray Swartz @graydaystudio.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

@pressherald.com would love for you to ask Beans why they are logging land? Is this what being an “outsider” means? There are lumber trucks full of wood leaving this site every week. They see good “commercial value” in these trees & not ruling out using the land for more than trails in the future

Abigail Gray Swartz @graydaystudio.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

#LLBean has been logging the woods behind my house for the last month. Today it started at 7:30. After calling we found out it will be 3 months at least It’s so loud, it’s near a watershed, impacting wildlife, my town council rep didn’t know they were doing this #maine

We need to start saying “Gross” when we see men doing disgusting things in public This week I saw a man scratching the dead skin off of his foot at the grocery store. Another man couldn’t stop scratching his junk & then a man hocked up phlegm as he walked past ( all in NJ but they’re everywhere…)

If you’re a male politician- have a platform that fights for equal pay and reproductive rights. The bar is in HELL. We literally have less rights than we did ten years ago. You need to earn our trust. Good news is it’s an open book test. 1) don’t be a dick to women 2) fight for our rights

Abigail Gray Swartz @graydaystudio.bsky.social · 19/07/2026

Dude politicians need to be actively anti-misogynist. Prove to me that you will be the guy in the subway car who stands up & intervenes when a woman is being harassed by a man, & not the type of guy who sits on his hands & looks the other way.

000

Abigail Gray Swartz @graydaystudio.bsky.social · 19/07/2026

They say it’s for forest management but not ruling out developing it in the future. My issue is they didn’t even put flyers in our mailboxes. Just some signs near the entrance to the woods. Additional I spoke with our town council rep they didn’t know the logging was happening. #maine

I live near some woodland owned by LLBEAN & they are logging (some ) of it for “commercial” gains For the past month it’s sounded like living next to an AI data center. It is grating. When we called- they said 2 more months The CO that encourages folks to get outside is taking away Maine habitat
