If Trump really loves Scotland, why is he hammering Scotch whisky with tariffs? With millions regularly enjoying Scotch on both sides of the Atlantic, it’s a bridge between the US and the UK - even in the midst of Trump’s trade war. These unfair and damaging tariffs must go.

Actions speak louder than words, so if the President truly cares about his Scottish ties, he must drop his damaging tariffs on our whisky exports.

This would allow our treasured Scotch whisky industry and all those employed in it to breathe a sigh of relief.

At the Holyrood election, everyone has a chance to vote for the Liberal Democrats by marking a cross beside our name on the peach regional ballot paper. It’s a chance to send local champions to parliament who will get things done, fight for the issues you care about.

Coming just under a year out from the Scottish Parliament election, Fountainbridge/Craiglockhart was also something of a bellwether victory. It adds to the bubbling groundswell of support for Liberal Democrats across the capital and across the country.

On #IDAHOBIT day there’s not much to celebrate in the UK. 22nd (once 1st) is a sad fall from grace. Legislation to improve lives of LGBT+ dropped by governments because it’s too politically hot to tackle. Pride organisers have every right to be fuming with politics. They want action not words!
