GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 28/07/2026I am so sorry for your loss. But the memories will be with you every day as sadness slowly becomes a warm memory. And don’t worry, Red is waiting patiently to say “hi”. 020
GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 28/03/2026This one is, I believe, the 4th/5th generation I’ve had out back. Very pretty, serious demeanors. Fed them chicken early on, but soon learned to cat proof the flock. 171

GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 20/09/2025Our Texas Republican leadership slipping out for a night of debauchery. Hogs are a problem here.. some 11+ million roam the state with no natural enemies. They do a lot of damage to local wildlife. I am gathering materials to dispatch as many as I can. FDJT #nature #Texas #hogs 010

GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 14/06/2025I’m always sort of sad to see this. Cities are not good for wildlife. They are here cause their natural habitat is mostly gone. Here are coyotes in the wild near my home. One is a Coydog, a mix of coyote and domestic dog. They are a pair and raising just welped pups. Night photo is mom pregnant 1120

GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 13/06/2025Coyotes can mate with dogs to produce Coydogs. Here is a part coyote and Belgian Malinois(neighbor’s BM has roamed around). This hybrid mated with the female, who just gave birth. They’re hunting because they always are hunting. Located Central Texas. #texaswildlife #nature #coyotes 080
GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 08/06/2025Walked this trail many thousands of times Today this brand new fella was hiding on it. My Lab, with nose always on the ground, walked by 2’ away. I think it’s 24-48 hours old. Sure mama was watching from the bushes. Gone couple hours later. #wildlife #nature #deer #centralTexas 030
GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 06/06/2025The Texas rat snake. Don’t mind them around the house cause they eat mice. But…got to keep them out of the coop because they live to also eat eggs. I remove about 10/yr. Just take them about 1000’ down the road 020

GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 25/01/2025Charlie absorbed with the smells, misses the pregnant doe watching him. He never saw her. As primates, we lost a keen sense of smell. Instead we stood up to see the world surrounding us. Teaming up with dogs all those millennia ago was a perfect match. #wildlife #dogs #rurallife 181

GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 26/12/2024Here’s the Big Buck from back of our land. Couple years ago he dam near gored me. Dog scared him out of some brush, I was staring up at birds, he came around the corner. Didn’t see me. He side stepped and missed my torso by 2ft while in full flight run. 110

GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 25/12/2024@hogsarentreal.com I’ve been working on these animatronic “hogs”. I’m getting better at it, but they still look ridiculous. 110
GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 24/12/2024Feral hogs are a huge problem throughout TX. Originally European, they were propagated intentionally by ranchers looking to provide weekend hunters with year round game (no season, no license) About 12 million today, with only hunting as the current control. Will have to do some control this year. 141

GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 08/12/2024#DogsofBluesky Guess who found the neighbor’s de*d cow? He was so proud. That leg hung around our yard for years, even after Gandy passed over. The Gandy story is legend! 050
GPilot @gpilot.bsky.social · 06/12/2024@dogsworld.bsky.social When Red’s long time companion Paddy passed, Red cried, moaned and stared at walls. But after a few weeks we brought in pup Max. Red and him became inseparable. Pup crawled all over him, and I swear some little puppy in Red came up. Red passed with young Max at his side. 290
