it's so funny to be surrounded by queer kinksters going "yeah puppygirl petplay and cannibalism as a metaphor for love are SO played out and normie" and then see someone outside that sphere be like "omg, be careful online, there are people attracted to SONIC THE HEDGEHOG characters! can't unsee!! 😱"

I know I've been incredibly unserious about this game (and the whole franchise) but I legitimately enjoyed that game so much. Aside from a few missed story beats, some of which I'm hoping to see resolved in future DLC, the game was fun, well-paced, and artistically cohesive (counting aesthetics,

This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

So! I'm travelling to Tokyo soon. I've never been to Japan and I'm going in blind. Is there anyone who has any recommendations of things to see/do? I plan on staying mostly within Kanto, but I'm flexible. Any ideas—from food to nerdy stuff to art to natural excursions—are welcome!

Something AI is responsible for that doesn't get enough talk: How, when it scrapes a website to illegally steal everything on it, it uses up a ton of its bandwidth allotment, crashing it or racking up massive fees for site owners.

I saw the main 3! The player I watched got In Water. I took 20 mins to recover from that one then watched Leave and Maria. I'm leaving the others for later, both bc my brain feels scrambled with those last 2 hours of gameplay and bc I'm sad I'm already wrapped up lol, I need another 50 hours of this

I'll check that one as well for sure! I tend to find older horror games to be more unsettling by default, due to low res graphics forcing imagination into overdrive. so if I'm already spooked by the remake, I can only imagine what those dark hallways and mannequins felt like in the og

update #2: I'm very curious about these characters. James is not asking nearly enough questions. Eddie's the realest character in any horror game I've ever played. I too would be throwing up in a situation like this. Angela reminds me of myself at 16. Jarring. Not sure how I feel about that yet!

I'm starting from the SH2 remake! I hear the 1st game is amazing, but wanted to go for the most accessible option to see if I liked it. I DEFINITELY like it 😆 I'm also watching a walkthru for now. Not sure I have the nerves to play this one—I'd like to, but I feel VERY uneasy even just watching it

fia ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ ⋆ @gothifia.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

100

fia ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ ⋆ @gothifia.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

most games usually have only certain sequences that don't feel right. the nursery in RE7, the keeper/meat grinder areas in TEW, that kinda stuff. however, i'm quickly finding out that all of Silent Hill 2 don't feel right. starting from that damn radio static...

120

fia ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ ⋆ @gothifia.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

"that don't look right" is stuff like mutated Mendez in RE4. "that don't feel right" is the type of thing that may not even look that messed up, but it awakens such an ancestral sense of dread that you can't even really pinpoint exactly what's bothering you, but you can feel it in your body

120

fia ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ ⋆ @gothifia.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

in my experience, good horror games are divided into two categories: "that don't look right" and "that don't feel right" "that don't look right" is for things that are messed up. you look at it and go "hell nah" on a surface level. you recognize it as a threat, it don't look right, but that's it

110

fia ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ ⋆ @gothifia.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

update: actually unbelievable, completely insane that i went this long without checking this game out. my favourite subgenre of horror is psychological. some of my top games are The Evil Within, Amnesia, SOMA. i knew i'd like SH once i'd decide to get into it but i wasn't expecting...this. lol

another csp tip: dont cross lines of reference layer. which is ver gud. assign line art as reference layer, switch to another layer, enable dont cross lines of ref layer, bam. if it isn't showing as a tool option, tap/click the wrench in tool settings window and go to anti-overflow, its in there.
