Because it’s not getting reported on enough: Muslim fruit shop owner Ahmed al Ahmed, father of two, was the hero who bravely tackled one of the Bondi Beach shooters and took away his gun. He saved lives during a major terror attack. Say his name, and honor the lives of the victims of the shooters

That’s fair. It feels to me that this season wasn’t “table setting” per se, but more we’re watching Ellie be willing to lose her humanity for the sake of vengeance and perpetuating the cycle of violence. Jumping between Abby and Ellie would have been worse IMO

020

Kelsey Stanley @gothicspell.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

And slowly sacrificing her ideals in the pursuit of “justice”. We’re watching the cycle of violence continue, and our main character we cheered on turn into the same monster that took Joel. Ellie and Abby are mirrors of one another, which is why that final shot was so powerful.

000

Kelsey Stanley @gothicspell.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

The pacing being too slow isn’t the problem. If anything, it moved too fast. We aren’t supposed to be diving into Abby or getting to know her character because the focus is on Ellie, her grief and desire for revenge. We’re supposed to be steeping in the hurt and watching Ellie go on a rampage 1/

Kelsey Stanley @gothicspell.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

It’s almost like it’s based on a game and is doing a fairly good job being a faithful adaptation. Considering what’s coming, this season did exactly what it needed to.

I think this was what bothered me the most about the show and why I fell off after maybe 2 or 3 episodes. Like, the whole point about Chief was you could see yourself as him because he never showed his face

The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other

The Stonewall Inn and The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative are outraged and appalled by the recent removal of the word 'transgender' from the Stonewall National Monument page on the National Park Service website. This blatant act of erasure not only distorts the truth of our history, but it also dishonors the immense contributions of transgender individuals - especially transgender women of color - who were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots and the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights.

I’ve got an old girl with IBD. We tried the prescription food but it didn’t really help because she wouldn’t eat it. Instead, she gets a .5mL dose of liquid meds daily before getting a can of wet food. It’s made such a difference in her quality of life. Photo included as cat tax.
