I think it worked because they knew what kind of story they wanted to tell and were willing to blow it up to move to the next phase. And then they let it go when it was ready. The wave returned to the ocean.

Correct! A lot of shows that people mention would be fine if you’ve never watched them and simply stopped ahead of the drop off point. For the prompt to be met, the show must end so badly that it essentially nullifies its own existence. You’d be better off never having watched it ever.

I feel like a lot of people are missing the assignment here: the key isn’t that the show fell off, it’s that it makes the point of even watching the story meaningless. Westworld isn’t in this category because if you reject anything past Season 1, it is still amazing. Game of Thrones however…

Weirdly, anecdotal eyeball tests probably aren’t good at distinguishing between 39% and 36% of a population when you don’t have access to the whole population But I just live in a city with 8.5 million people, so I’m great at extrapolating from what’s out my window

Children deserve to experience age-appropriate autonomy and learn how to navigate spaces on their own. Not just to help them become functional adults but also to help their childhoods flourish. If I could afford a tiny human, this is why I would raise them in NYC

This is a misread of the loophole in NY law (which still has to be closed). If someone is intoxicated past the point of consent but is still conscious, then they are considered capable of consent as long as they imbibed the intoxicating substances willingly. Unconscious people still can’t consent!

If she passes out due to voluntary alcohol consumption, she’s still unconscious and unable to consent. The voluntary nature only applies if she remains awake. There are no terms by which an unconscious person can consent! (Except by explicit verbal or written contract before incapacity)
