I've not posted on BlueSky for 6 months. But John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13 is on Freeview TV - and that feels like a legitimate reason to share news with the world.

Just finished Robocop: Rogue City (which was excellent), so obviously I had to get me some Robocop in. The game takes place between Robocop 2 and 3. Ive watched the second entry fairly recently, so yeah, I'm going in to a rewatch of the third. I know what I've signed up for. #filmsky

Thankfully, Bubba Smith wasn't in Police Academy 7. He has 7 watches for me this year, but that 7th one was Gremlins 2: The New Batch.

This lead to his biggest collaborator rising to the top of my most watched actors. I completely forgot this person was in so many of Shyamalan's films. I am, of course talking about the man himself.

It was back in early July I rewatched Unbreakable. I'd been wanting to first time watch Split and Glass (still not yet watched), so had to rewatch Unbreakable of course. This lead to me going through the Shyamalan verse. Mixing in rewatches with new watches, he's risen to the top of my Directors.

When I stupidly started my year with all 7 (SEVEN) Police Academy movies, my @letterboxd.social Most Watched actor stats were ruined. I've not purposely sought to break this list. Just watch what I watch over the year and see if anyone can compete.

Just revisited Gremlins 2 for the first time this century I reckon... And I was delighted to find out it takes place in the Breaking Bad universe.

So, this rambling has come to the conclusion that Chalamet and Zendaya will be king and queen of @letterboxd.social power in 2024. #filmsky See you on January 8th 2025. letterboxd.com/2024/#get-re...

Never bet against Willem Dafoe either. Released this year: Nosferatu (not in the UK) Saturday Night Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Kinds of Kindness Poor Things (UK + VOD) He also has the Eggers verse, which people may revisit ahead of Nosferatu, and a super strong back catalogue. He always ranks high.

Another outside bet, Mr Pascal. Gladiator II The Wild Robot He doesn't quite have the "popular" back catalogue to fall back on however, and both Hemsworth and Chalamet have more popular films released this year.

Another potential is Chris Hemsworth: Furiosa Deadpool & Wolverine And of course Transformers One Plus he has the whole Marvel back catalogue in his favour, which will always get decent views.

After trying my best to get on with THE HAPPENING, and not even admiring it's attempt at being a 1950s B-movie... I need a cleanse. And what better than a Hyams / JCVD collaboration that I've never seen. #NowWatching ENEMIES CLOSER #FilmSky

After an hour of hardware troubleshooting a HDMI port, which turned out the fix was flicking a setting off and on again, I'm now rewatching this bad boy. Was quite the experience in the cinema last year and delighted to have the disc. Let's go full Kaiju. #NowWatching GODZILLA MINUS ONE #filmsky

So the film ends, credits are about to roll and, I thought it was going to do freeze-frame character/actor name... But, nope, it does the best thing I've ever seen.

William H Macy just had a realisation while getting a face mask and watching some dufus lawyer kicking off on TV after getting his Porsche nicked by a "good looking guy" aka Chris Evans. This film.

Haha. This amazing. Cap has just stolen a Security Car from a school, but his battery is about to die. So what does he do? He sees a hot air balloon advertising the grand opening of a new phone store called CELLULAR. But it's busy, so he goes all FALLING DOWN because he needs a charger.

One thing I do give Prime credit for: they have a far better algorithm than Netflix - and a better selection of back catalogue films. E.g: Mid 2000s thriller, I presume about a (then) modern cell phone, starring W H. Macy, and c90 minutes? #NowWatching CELLULAR #filmsky
