A HAPPY FISHMAS TO ALL‼️ OTD, in 1938, museum official Marjorie Courtenay-Latimer saw a beautiful blue & white lobe-finned fish in a boatman friend’s catch. This odd specimen, later named Latimeria chalumnae in her honor, was found to be a member of a taxon long thought extinct: The Coelacanths.
