The whole schmitt/Smith fiasco was inevitable in a general way. It is what happens when imbeciles get fed their egos by yes-men, which is exactly what the republican party has turned into. I just wish I would have made the prediction, even though it would have had to have been vaguely predicted.

I often say that the human race hasn't changed one iota over the last three millennia. That's not entirely true, even though current events make the argument more difficult. We have, though, changed. We have awoken quite a bit. The stupour is not quite so impenetrable.

Someone was making the very valid point that the heart becomes brainwashed and polluted. In other words, there' nothing wrong with the heart (metaphorically speaking) when one is born. It is corrupted. My question is what makes the human heart willing to become polluted? What makes it prone?
