This is the same for How I Met Your Mother. People hate the finale but if you think of it ending at 5/6 seasons, it plays out *so* much better. The writers just kept repeating the same story beats between Ted, Robin and Barney every year to maintain the pieces in the right place, and it made baggage

100%. It helps that Christina Chong has awesome chemistry with everyone all the time, but I actually enjoyed the idea that she has to process her feelings of loving this unavailable man. I mean, how neat would it be to have things maybe actually happen right before Space Seed, which messes it up.

The way she bounced between both men feels really cheap towards her character, because the tough exterior turns out to be a front for a boy-crazy insecure not-a-princess, and that's just not interesting.

I'm also bothered that she has now had things with both main men from TOS, both men who are most impacted by her ancestor. It just makes everything from Space Seed, to WoK, even Prime Spock in Into Darkness feel muddy and weird. Plus, Spock and Kirk trading ladies just feels wrong, somehow.

I always thought the compromise release schedule was to release a season in monthly batches of 4. That way you still get your binge, but also the water cooler hype. Plus, it could let creators design around shorter arcs, which may give viewers more satisfaction on storytelling and conclusion?

Maybe two people noticed I completely vanished from my life (beyond Facebook. Depression is a bitch). 3 years went by, and when I quietly turn it back on people only noticed my birthday. I'm not angry at them. I'm sad about my ambivalent existence and my inability to have close friends.

A few weeks ago, I reactivated my Facebook after 3 years for access to chat with my kid, and immediately realized why I left. Today is my birthday, and part of the reason I am sad is because all of the Facebook birthday messages mean i finally get how shallow my relationships with everyone were.
