Worcestershire Parkway is the weirdest liminal space. It's a convenient train station as it's right where two major railway lines cross over one another, but that's literally the *only* reason it exists. Changing lines. It's a fair sized modern station with nothing around but trees and fields […]

#SynthDIY work-in-progress. This is a 16-step sequencer with dual outputs (it’ll be triple in the final design). Each step has a “rest” switch. The special sauce here is that you can turn a knob (or, once I build the next part, send in a trigger) and offset the […] [Original post on dood.net]

Unbelievable that I have to do this to find out about sending written messages by wire.
DuckDuckGo search for 'telegram disambiguation', showing that the top result is the Wikipedia page about telegrams. But come on, I shouldn't have to do this to not get results about the messaging app.

All going down at work here today. The big electric gate at the entrance to the site has broken, so everyone's had to park up on the verge and climb over the fence to get in. The new (£300k) specialist science combine hasn't cut a single head of wheat yet and the *wiring loom has melted*. Ooh […]

Oh no... PAiA have always been one of my biggest synth design inspirations. I owe a huge amount to their approach. RIP Scott.

"Scott Lee passed away with his family by his side on April 21st, 2026. He loved PAiA and helping others follow their passion with music. He would appreciate if we all kept the PAiA legacy moving forward. Paia.com will temporarily remain offline as his son, Nathan Lee, works to get PAiA back to operation in any way he can.

We appreciate your understanding and stay tuned for more updates to come. We look forward to being in touch soon."

@Jencen Since it's a property of what the speaker can physically endure, maybe US product regulation was more lax?

Found a neat schematic for a valve amp using a pair of ECL80s, so why not give it a go ~ (There's many reasons not to give it a go, but hey, nothing ventured nothing gained...)
A wooden board with a bunch of electronic components screwed down onto it. There's two valve sockets at the top. It looks like a terrible idea.
