Will Greatwich @gnipahellir.bsky.social · 31/08/2026It's a really cool book! The worst parts are kind of boring but the best parts are bloody awesome 110
Will Greatwich @gnipahellir.bsky.social · 18/08/2026yeah, I really liked that throughout the book I couldn't say what genre it was (sci-fi? fantasy? "literary"? er... slipstream?) and the ending actively resisted putting a bow on it and saying "it was actually (this particular thing) all along" 110
Will Greatwich @gnipahellir.bsky.social · 18/08/2026It was really good. I can understand stalling out at 60 pages, I thought the opening was a bit slow as it set up a lot of things that don't seem important until later. But that twist halfway through was so good, it gave me chills! I'm not sure what I think of the ending, though. 100

Will Greatwich @gnipahellir.bsky.social · 01/07/2026Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it. The comparison to LotR kind of makes me blush, but I do see what you mean. I think LotR is a deep inspiration for almost every fantasy writer, so if I captured even a little bit of that old magic, then I'm happy. 110

Will Greatwich @gnipahellir.bsky.social · 13/12/2025Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I love the Alan Garner comparison. I haven't read him since I was a kid, but I DO vividly remember a scene in Weirdstone of Brisingamen with a character crawling through lightless tunnels deep beneath the earth. So it probably did have a distant influence. 010
