glennpittaway @glennpittaway.bsky.social · 07/01/2025Just got around to watching "Slow Horses". I loved it. However, the "skip intro" button doesn't show up soon enough to avoid Sir Mick's singing equivalent of gurning in the godawful feem toon. Where in the galaxy is that accent from? 020

glennpittaway @glennpittaway.bsky.social · 02/12/2024When did "awwww bless" become a normal response in a professional interaction on the phone? Sometimes it's even an interjection, regardless of what's being said. My record is five in a single call with a vet's receptionist 000
glennpittaway @glennpittaway.bsky.social · 24/11/2024This lad was 64 yesterday. Fun AF to drive. Noisy as sitting in a paint can full of rocks 040

glennpittaway @glennpittaway.bsky.social · 05/09/2024Listening to "Flyte" by Flyte, and basking in the glow of their show at @thetradesclub.bsky.social on Tuesday. It's a lovely, gentle, and wonderfully charming record. The melodies are delicious, harmonies well thought out and executed. English folky, but echoes of CSN, and Big Star. Luke Temple? 010
glennpittaway @glennpittaway.bsky.social · 03/09/2024I just saw Flyte at @thetradesclub.bsky.social in Hebden Bridge. A wonderful, wonderful show in a fantastic venue. M.Field was a great opening act 120
glennpittaway @glennpittaway.bsky.social · 29/08/2024I have the Haynes manual to hand, and this is apparently the engine. I've tinkered... I've checked the oil - hunky dory. I checked the coolant level - needed topping up, so I've already fixed something!I need to steel myself to "winterise" him, which will involve bleeding, flushing and refilling... 130
glennpittaway @glennpittaway.bsky.social · 29/08/2024This is Andy the 1961 Series II Landy as promised/threatened. At this point, my technical knowledge stretches to "this is a car", and I'm reliably informed that under the bonnet (with handy spare tyre) there is an engine. 030
glennpittaway @glennpittaway.bsky.social · 18/08/2024Who's interested in series Land Rovers! All I know about them, is that I have a series II at the back of the house. I intend to do basic maintenance in it, so I'll have to learn a bit more. Obvs. I might share some of the less geeky bits of the journey. If indeed there are any bits less than geeky 120
glennpittaway @glennpittaway.bsky.social · 15/08/2024I live near the Shropshire Union Canal. On a walk yesterday, I commented that the canal boating demographic was changing after I saw a boat called "Ducks Deluxe", and another "REM". Give it a year or two and we'll see "NWA" and "Extreme Noise Terror" 0111
