unfortunately the Gemini app is just a front end/short cut. It's like 2MBs. Gemini actually lives inside the Google app (which is why it is fucking 1.4GBs on my phone now) you should be able to turn it off from the Google app though

this is also why the AI guys are so obnoxious. They have no hobbies or passions. They simply want to automate everything and don't understand the human joy of creating something or being passionate about something.

There has to be some kind of term for "automation would be bad for *my passion* but would be great for *thing I'm not passionate about*"

Example: a legal eagle video I watched recently (in the nebula exclusive cut) Devon said "oh yeah AI makes sloppy reports and papers for legal documents but it's kind of a known fact it is being used and doing quite well in Programming!" (not verbatim)

I've noticed a phenomenon where anybody talking about AI who isn't morally opposed to it entirely tends to fall into a "Well for [subject I am really passionate about] it is kind of bad but I think it would be really good at [subject I am not as well versed in]!"

that's why things like SynthID are being mandated by the EU. You should be, in the near future, able to run a SynthID check on any image instead of pixel peeping

also credit cards are optional too. If you're on an iPhone you can have Apple share your "age range" which is based off of your AppleID age. If your AppleID is older than 18, which for anybody who owned an iPod is very likely the case, you get auto verified as an adult with no credit or ID cards

If you've had it for months than you're in a location that requires it and the laws there likely require ID/face checks. That's been the case for the UK, Australia, Brazil and a handful of other places

I just read through it and from what I could gather, they actually taken in some feedback. For the most part, they're going to implement it to where it doesn't require selfies or ID cards. This isn't something to cause any of y'all to nuke your Discord accounts or go into mass hysteria.
