I'm seeing multiple MDs, including those high up at the WHO, repeatedly say the public need not worry about hantavirus, you need close prolonged contact to get the illness, it's not airborne, and most worryingly, the WHO advising HCWs to use inadequate respiratory protection. Here's the problem. 1/

For the past two years, I've watched an older man walking in my neighbourhood. For months, he hobbled along, with a cane in each hand. Then, he progressed to using only one cane. I just spotted him walking down the sidewalk carrying that cane—but it was not touching the ground! I salute you, sir!

If my writing about autism does anything, whether it be in my books, my columns or my reported stories, I hope it advances the idea that autistic people are whole human beings as they are with legitimate needs and inner lives that deserve to be told the same as other stories.
