The only English front-facing sign at the BANQ on Viger, as seen yesterday. Requests for vital records - crazy times.

A tale of two anniversaries: Ottawa 150 and Ottawa 200. A certificate for the 150th, and a strange towel and pin for the 200th. Happy Birthday Ottawa!

Because sure a LLM which grabbed all the content off the internet without permission will keep what you say private.... Dumb ad.

Thrift find this weekend - a plate for the Dionne Quints. Typical tourist tat and in retrospect - man we were bad for doing this to wee babies. But then history is not only about the good things.

Why does McDonald's have these screens front facing when the staff remove the order numbers before they are even served?

'Cause yeah, what you give your wife should impress her friends. That is what giving gifts is all about. Note headline from CNN

I like that CTV News classifies this as entertainment, and not a serious look at faith :)

The book is from 1979... I couldn't find the one with the tent, or the prospecting tools. Otherwise: with the trees- conservationist; milk and bowl - cook; tennis rackets - athlete; blocks - childcare; green maple leaf - citizen; dancer - dancer; red cross - first aid

They need names - both are in the Montreal Tartan, the bear with a QC tartan bow and Cdn tartan heart; the bunny with a Cdn tartan bow and QC tartan heart. All polite suggestions entertained. Will be up for sale at the St Andrew's Ball charity silent auction in November

We often forget how hard it was for people to get the right to vote. Here is Isabel Maude Kate Smith who was arrested in 1914 for slashing the painting "Primavera" by Claussen. As a suffragette she suffered and fought for her vote. Please remember this and go and vote today.

Project to recreate banners of St Andrew's Society of Montreal (19C) for the upcoming St Patrick's Parade (#200). Made a Caledonian Society of Montreal logo (Cross stitch) and put it on Black Watch tartan with fringe.

Made Cornish Pasties for Christmas snacking - something Mom did when I was young. That will be the extent of my baking this year, so enjoy the view, while I enjoy the taste.
