ECMAScript Euphoria! 🎉 We don't always post when a single proposal advances, but when we do, it's Temporal -> Stage 4. Just days shy of 9 years from Stage 1, a herculean effort on the part of many champions, delegates, invited experts, and contributors, past and present. Thank you all! 🙌

Hmm... why doesn't `--erasableSyntaxOnly` in @typescriptlang.org not show an error on decorators? 🤔 It passes typechecking with this flag, but Node.js doesn't run it ("invalid token" error)

If I create a simple loader that just console.logs the source code, and I import a `.ts` file using the @nodejs.org support for it, I get the TS code and not the transpiled code. This means that loaders that analyze the source code will now need to understand TS.
Source code with the following code:

registerHooks({
  load: (url, context, nextLoad) => {
    const ret = nextLoad(url, context)

    console.log(ret.source)

    return ret;
  }
})

await import('./main.ts')

If a package is used only in `import type`, should that package be in `dependencies` or `devDependencies`. It feels wrong for it to be in `dependencies` because the JS runtime doesn't see it, but it MUST be in `dependencies` because `.d.ts` files generated by the package refer to it. 😢

Svelte 5 is not Javascript
For the last couple of weeks, I've been dealing with the fallout of upgrading a web application to Svelte 5. Complaints about framework churn and migration annoyances aside, I've run into some interesting issues with the migration.

Look at this post - it has a *link* in it! How is that possible? Digging a bit, it seems that the 🦋 app has support for rich text (docs.bsky.app/docs/advance...), so I'm guessing that while the 🦋 client doesn't support writing it, the Ouranos client below does, and the 🦋 client shows it.

@nx.dev - why oh why does remote caching only work in CI, and I have to `export CI=1` to make it work locally? This feels _very_ opinionated, from a tool that in general is not. A CLI argument or `nx.json` option would have been better, as I would really love to use remote caching on dev machines.

OMG! Google Slides can now show speaker notes in a separate window ***automatically***! (Without me needing to move windows from screen to screen in an awkward way at the start of the presentation) Too bad I got so used to not having speaker notes, that I don't need them anymore. 😁

Isn't it infuriaritingly confusing, that if you want to have a number `num` be *at most* 10, then you have to write const finalNum = Math.min(num, 10) My intuition is shouting at me "Math.max! Math.max!", and I have to shut it up and accept that "at most" mean "Math.min". 🤷‍♂️

Doesn't work for me. When I try I find myself glossing over the details. What *does* work for me is writing a detailed description of the pr that guides the reviewer. And that's where I find my bugs! By explaining it to someone else. And the reviewer gets a bonus review guide that really helps.

Bluesky is doing great in building the UI, but small things are still missing (that's fine! These things take time) One things that's _really_ missing for discovery purposes - hovering over a user's handle or a user's avatar, and having a popup show the information about the user.

I was always an optimist - "things are bad, but you'll see". I was usually right. Today I woke up a pessimist. Not only do we have a raving lunatic as the world's president (yes, indirectly he is my president too), but yesterday our PM just fired the only sane member of his government.

My flow as a developer is like Matisse's: "When working, [...] there is a constant back and forth until the work and I are in harmony. Like a writer, I am always revising, going back and making new discoveries". Programming is a craft.

A panel with the following text: In this painting, please note the traces of
redrawing visible in the face, the back of the
chair, the left hand, and the right shoulder. The
left hand appears to have been left intentionally
vague, the outline and color of the left sleeve are
left inconsistent, and the outlines of clothes are
etched in scratched lines. Matisse deliberately
left these as evidence of the creative process,
and explained their importance as follows: "The
artist's reactions during each stage of the
painting's development are as important as the
subject matter, because these reactions originate
from me, not from the subject. When working, I
begin with my own interpretations and there is a
constant back-and-forth until the work and I are in
harmony. Like a writer, I am always revising,
going back and making new discoveries." (Henri
Matisse, Notes of a Painter)

Why is "Push Driven Development" the only way to develop Github Actions (or ADO pipelines, or CircleCI workflows)? You know - change the yml, then push, which runs the action, check the output, fix the action, push again, ad nauseum. Why is there no "run this action yaml please" in these products?
