I've been thinking about this along similar lines when reflecting on the Arday tragedy. This is an uphill battle in so many ways. "A lot of 'elite' academicians are actually just XIX-century-level of racist and misogynist" being basically unbelievable by a regular person is one of them.
The individuals who make up the university community might want to believe it is a democratic institution, but it has never been one. Ego and narcissism are significant drivers of the university, and senior managers exploit those characteristics gleefully, with the profound effect of keeping its foundational conservatism in place. The truth of the situation is that Nathan Cofnas and figures like him are more representative of the university than the raging leftists of the media fantasy. Indeed, many a Cofnas or Christopher Rufo type figure works quietly but influentially in policy-oriented positions in universities, advising and creating policy for government and business alike. They too hold endowed chairs, get many awards and honours, and some even become senior managers. They are just better at obscuring what they actually work on and what that work does in the world. The seduction machine has made many want those kinds of arrangements rather than take on the historic fight to produce a new institution. EDI has been a significant element of that machine, not a challenge to the foundation of the old regime.

You're misreading Ludic. He is running a consultancy that works with many different companies in industry, not leading any projects or participating in any AI-driven work. This is, in fact, in the explicit text of the post.
All of the AI projects we have observed as a team are failing. Every single one – we have seen 0% success in a year and a half, not only amongst projects we have been asked to participate in[see footnote 2], but even within projects that we have observed in passing while doing totally unrelated work.[Footnote 2] We have rejected all AI implementation work. It is absolutely a gigantic bubble and we have minimized our exposure to it – every single one of our current contracts would be totally unaffected by OpenAI collapsing, save for perhaps some second-order effects such a recession causing a client to become unable to pay us. And there’s nothing we can do to insulate ourselves from that anyway.

I find it hard to get mad at Adam Carolla, a guy I have never heard about before this quote, whose only accomplishment seems to be "hosting a talk show distributed as a podcast". The same way I don't get mad at whatever a cockroach thinks of me. It seems too much like this picture.
The comic with a seething guy saying "I loathe every person I see on the street! Lookit that stupid ass-hole" and a normal guy going about and whistling labelled "Normal Guy"

I guess it's a corollary of "when normal people extend their thumbs up all the way it doesn't bend like this"? That one I've learnt around 24
A thumbs up but the final segment of the thumb is bent 90 degrees back. This is just what happens when I send the "outstretch" signal to my thumb

We had Dexter (the orange boy) for 2yrs, raised from kitten at home. We adopted Sheyla (the poppyseed girl) 3 months ago from a rescue. Initially it was a mixed bag. She's lovely, but Dexter was a bit shy. But now they play with each other and overall he's behaving better with her than without.
Dexter the white-orange cat and Sheyla the white-gray-black cat laying on a wooden floor face to face looking really cute

On a much brighter note, the talk by prof. H. V. Jagadish, who received the Codd Innovation award, was much better and suited to meet the moment. (Slides under CC BY 4.0)
Slide from the talk

Central Challenge Solved??

- NO!!
- Must address user need.
- An AI agent (or LLM) can be a critical/central part of the solution. But is almost always not the complete answer.
- Redo all the usability work using new methods.
- Address more complex user needs. Slide from the talk.

Human in the Loop (Passive)

The diagram shows humans being connected to Big Data Processes. The arrow from humans to Big Data Processes is labelled "Digital Exhaust". The arrow from Big Data Processes to humans is labelled "Impact on Humans".

There is a second loop where Big Data Processes are connected to Big AI Companies. Slide from the talk.

The AI Myth

Arrow with Big Data goes into a giant box labelled "AI Magic" and "Deep Insights" go out. Slide from the talk.

Consider Impact on Society

- Not OK for technologists to divorce themselves from impact.
  - Even if this requires broader consideration than most techies may find natural.
  - No one else can understand the tech!!

At the bottom there are three collaborators Jagadish chose to highlight and their photos: Julia Stoyanovich, Yuval Moskovitch, Abolfazl Asudeh
