I want to watch this one RN, then the Dot and Ethel one and that...weird one that was almost entirely Den's prison inmate and his wife?!

While the new Avalanches album was releasing I studied the blade (I mean made a fresh 80+ track playlist of what they sampled for Since I Left You): music.apple.com/gb/playlist/...

I thought I'd discovered it thru a previous Peoples Pop Poll but perhaps it was just (Spotify) Discover Weekly after all. Delighted to be able to nominate it for this either way.

I'd like an easy way to see a list of all the movies now free on YouTube if anyone knows of one - just something listing all by default, updated regularly and searchable with filters. C'mon who's vibe-coded this no-brainer?

I've looked up Little Nell in the past but not Little Neepsie.

Part of it is that you're seeing hate at all - as this is the sort of thing on streaming platform's 'Oo remembers or indeed forgot these 90s hits' playlists which get played too much in public commercial spots now meaning I've heard it more in the last five years than in the 20 before that.

I saw the restored version at the British Museum around ten years ago. The one really good bit is the philosophical debate between John and Mehemet - tho having not seen much of this genre in that era IDK how uncommon that sort of thing was.

Luka Modric having played in both this game and Croatia's 2-0 win over England in 2007 is just outstanding you have to say. Bilic also being back kinda makes me want to generate some dreadful lolcat memes while listening to 'Blackout' on an original iPod.

The 95 set was my first time hearing Impact properly so KTW into that was the moment but I think we only got those two tracks on C4's coverage at the time. According to setlist.fm they did a blend re Sad But True/New.

This is up! And some loonnngg versions too (Forever 9m+, Sad But True nearly 11m, Are We Here 15m+). Curiously no 'Kein Trink Wasser' which they DID play at Glastonbury '95 (watched that on TV at the time and it really maximised my Hartnolls love).

It's not on the list yet but on behalf of an indisposed Kat I submitted Lambada as her Main.

I don't think mine (which I picked almost entirely for the bass sound) is but will almost certainly be voting for 'Rock To The Beat'. 'Bounce Your Body To The Box' would've been just as welcome and deserving.

Steve Mannion @ghostfoodpro.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Was MJ anyone's main or even 2nd? I get why not but would still feel a bit wrong without at least one song from 'Bad'.

020 2

Steve Mannion @ghostfoodpro.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Ah so we'd get 'Good Life' and 'Rock To The Beat' (both '88) and as a result both 'Big Fun' and 'Just Want Another Chance' (also both '88) would be ineligible?

010 1

Steve Mannion @ghostfoodpro.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Just to clarify, are you allowing multiple Main tracks by the same artist under different names (e.g. Rhythim Is Rhythim AND R-Tyme (being May and another dude); Inner City AND Kevin Saunderson as Reese)? Not yet noticed any other instances tbh

I was only up on that one song and a actually only ID'd it about a year ago despite first hearing on some Gilles Peterson mix 25+ years before that (tho shoulda recognised from the sample on 'I Got A Man' too I guess).

On the Nuggets side of things I had the Frankie Knuckles House mix of Kasso's '81 Italo track 'One More Round' down as my '86 pick but not gonna go down the remix route for this poll in the end (esp. if the original is itself out of range).

From my year-by-year Favourite (Top 75) Hits lists these are my highest-rated eligible options tho I'd rather focus on some lesser known stuff personally. Certainly surprised a few of these are still NOT in Pollhalla yet (perhaps 'Push It' most of all). #BPHM8689

Nighwriters amazing ofc but have nominated before. The Visions track was acetate only in '89 but is fully Juan Atkins making an Inner City record and as good as their best. 'New Age Of Faith' is like Jimi Polo's 'Better Days' for me in that the track audaciously ripping it off just came out better.

Added all year by year 90s Favourite Hits playlists to Apple Music and noticed in the process that Photek's Top 40 smash 'Ni Ten Ichi Ryu' IS on AM but only as 'ID1..' on Peshay's History of DnB '97 mix. Peshay's own Miles From Home LP STILL not streamable and perhaps never will be idk why.
