Luka Modric having played in both this game and Croatia's 2-0 win over England in 2007 is just outstanding you have to say. Bilic also being back kinda makes me want to generate some dreadful lolcat memes while listening to 'Blackout' on an original iPod.

Had a lovely one with Gwenno and Saint Etienne at the Brighton Dome tonight. Tried but failed to get in to the after-party c'est la vie.

Added all year by year 90s Favourite Hits playlists to Apple Music and noticed in the process that Photek's Top 40 smash 'Ni Ten Ichi Ryu' IS on AM but only as 'ID1..' on Peshay's History of DnB '97 mix. Peshay's own Miles From Home LP STILL not streamable and perhaps never will be idk why.

Because I just tinkered with it, swapping in/out a couple of things, here's my updated 100 Favourite Hit Singles 1980-1989 playlist on AM. Perhaps no better way to kick such a thing off (despite Dec '89 release!) than with that thunderous sample of Tramaine Hawkins on the Club mix of 'Hallelujah'.

Things I was frightened of as a child: - The 'Wild Boys' video (my favourite band betraying me with a creepy animatronic head, sob) - A deformed/mutated (by cigs) man in some kind of anti-smoking public info film I saw one night - The galloping knight in the DUCKHAMS* oil advert (he's after me!)

Had to laugh at this old German 7" sleeve for Sheena Easton's song "Nine To Five"

Pink record sleeve for Sheena Easton's single "9 to 5" showing two hands, checking the time on a watch which shows the time as precisely nine minutes to five.

Hid the new-looking Trending panel on the right hand side but not before thinking it would be good if it could split trends up geographically (or just turn off US news) before realising what I probably really wanted was to exclude all the heavy stuff and just show me trending memes and fun only.

Also wondering which credit on the imminent new Avalanches album intrigues me more - Mike Patton (twice!) or Stock, Aitken & Waterman?

Tore some hair out with SSL nonsense from current web hosts but salvaged my Sunday by reviving my dormant Github account and Gatsby-built project from 8 years ago and getting the repo into a deployable state via Astro and Hostinger. Can I have another weekend now?

Think it might actually have been the first 808 State fan club CD they sent out to members in 1994. Came in an eco-friendly cardboard sleeve! First CD single might've been 'Some Might Say'. First CD album bought I can't actually recall now but I was v Comp-centric then.

Ooh hello. Suggests (or does it?) they might also do a new live show of 'Snivilisation' but also useful as the segue from 'Forever' into 'Sad But True' in that set (as watched on YouTube) is great and obviously not something you get on the album.

Powerful aliens arrive on Earth, easily take over and put us back in lockdown but then actually fix just about everything. Eventually thwarted by another alien force resentful of their benevolent dictatorial prowess but the two destroy each other while surviving humans pick up the pieces.

Delicious pintxos and sangria at Sorgingulo in Bilbao's Nueva Plaza.

The first thing I ate in Bilbao today was this utterly perfect cox pintxo (but ideally would've been a full bocadillo) although the chorizo cooked in cider reduction was not too far behind.

Finally adding Apple Music equivalents of the Spotify UK Chart Hits playlists by year here: ghostfood.uk/music/ukchar... Via TuneMyMusic, the 11 second silent track placeholder, used for any track not available on Spotify, is replaced in the Apple versions by a much longer equivalent. To be fixed..
