Glenn Ferrell @gferrell.bsky.social · 18/08/2026I'm recommending the July/August 2026 Guest Editorial for "Analog Science Fiction and Fact". Howard V. Hendrix writes on the Kessler Syndrome and humanity's risk of being denied access to LEO. Elon Musk's Starlink, alone, is planning to deploy another 42,000 satellites in the next 7 years! 000

Glenn Ferrell @gferrell.bsky.social · 19/05/2026@boriscrito.bsky.social Just read your short story, Schismogenesis. Incredible story - powerful, authorative, & unique! I can't think of anything to compare it to but it reminds me of how I felt when I first read Peter Watts' 'Blindsight', or Alfred Bester's 'Demolished Man'. Keep it up! 121
Glenn Ferrell @gferrell.bsky.social · 12/05/2026Also from May/June Analog issue: "Camino Mundo", an elegant little 1-scene story by Brian Hugenbruch. On a ring world, an old man returns from a long journey & speaks with a young man. (Nice voice & clever statement of theme: stories + name of the road + years of the journey.) @the-lettersea.com 000
Glenn Ferrell @gferrell.bsky.social · 06/05/2026Just read a great little story in the May/June issue of Analog Science Fiction and Fact. "Amel and the BRIDE", by Julie Duffie, is a 21st century, higher-stakes, bookend to Heinlein's "Delilah and the Space Rigger" - and, in my opinion, a better story. @storyaday.bsky.social 111

It should be ripped out and woodchippered root and branch and replaced with something focused on the concept that you can’t defend the rule of law by burning it down. 112232463

Glenn Ferrell @gferrell.bsky.social · 14/12/2025Recently read (2nd time through) Larry Brooks "Story Engineering". The most thorough writing system I've seen. It is focused on novels but I've analyzed a couple of SF Hall of Fame short stories, using the structure (plot pts, pinch pts, etc.) to see how it works. So far --looks very promising. 000
Glenn Ferrell @gferrell.bsky.social · 14/12/2025My wife & I read the classics to each other after dinner -- having read Jerome K. Jerome's "Three Men in a Boat - to Say Nothing of the Dog", we're taking a break to read Connie Willis's "To Say Nothing of the Dog." Fabulous, hilarious book -- highly recommended (#hopepunk before it's time :) ) 000
Glenn Ferrell @gferrell.bsky.social · 13/08/2025@pbarmby.bsky.social Just read your "Galilean Crossing" flash fiction piece. Nice and detailed, elegant -- tough format to write in, but you still managed a poetic opening and some great astronomy chops! The first I've read of yours but definitely not the last. 130
