Oh yeah, I'm *so* excited for another week of trying to navigate Carlsbad streets during a heavy rain event. The infrastructure is lacking and the Ford F-150s/etc. just speed down the streets kicking up walls of water that exceed the height of my Crosstrek. [this is fine.jpeg]

Person who has worked in and generally spent a lot of time in Yellowstone here. While somebody used to reading bison body language would’ve tried to get out of that situation, the average visitor wouldn’t—and these folks were at a reasonable distance away.

I earned my PhD in December. Through a lot of luck I have a gig for at least a year starting next month, but I have no idea what comes after that and not a lot of optimism with each pathway that closes. The uncertainty eats into my mental health every day.

Chaos in the bird feeder this morning. My two squirrel buddies decided to tolerate each other again so I grabbed my camera. A third tried to get in on the action and these crazy photos ensued. I promise no squirrel was injured. All of this happened in the space of seconds. #Mammals 🌿
