Domestic bliss?

Inside the Dubai penthouse bedroom, Jacob Anderson, in costume as Louis, and Assad Zaman, in costume as Armand, sit up on Louis and Armand’s “bed” in the sunken part of the room. Both actors are wearing pajama costumes, with their hands folded in their laps. The photo is taken from Jacob’s side. I have gotten my understanding about how “off” the show is from all the dedicated WH readers out there. I appreciate the insights tho think the show would be pretty lame even if there was no book canon. But I’ll keep watching to pass the time til my vamps return 😆

Such a shame! I was a huge fan of AR’s work in the 80s. But I could not get into the Mayfair books and the show has done nothing to remedy that. Yet even I understand how miscast these roles are.

Ha! I’d love to watch his reaction. I do my best to not gush about the show at work, but it’s hard. I lead a double life, working with scientists by day and keeping company with vampires after hours.

Is Dreamstat really a dream if the cameras can pick him up?

On the left, there is a monitor that shows Sam Reid, as Lestat from the neck down on the right side of the monitor frame, standing in front of the table where Armand and Louis are seated. On the right, the camera is filming the shot displayed on the monitor with Sam Reid’s back to the camera taking the photo.

It’s very well done. Written in the literary style of the original but with more dialog and details about their relationship. I really liked it.

Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu (the OG queer vampiress who preceded Dracula) and the adaptation by SD Simper called Carmilla and Laura. I particularly enjoyed the latter as it expands on the 19th C dialog and the relationship storyline.
