Please re-post. My group is looking for a PhD student! We want to study different aspects of small RNA biology during sexual reproduction and stress in Arabidopsis and barley. If interested please send me a DM or email (german.martinez.arias@slu.se).

Alternative polyadenylation dynamics shape pollen development at single-cell resolution
Single-cell analyses reveal stage- and cell-type-specific 3′UTR remodeling that modulates gene expression and is essential for proper pollen development.

Does anyone have a 3xFlag tag in the pGreengate system and would be willing to share a bit? 🙏 Please RT to claim your virtual belly rub opportunity:

Finally, we dedicated this work to the memory of Juan Luis Reig-Valiente, who sadly and unexpectedly passed away. I had a bittersweet feeling while finishing this manuscript and remembering his contributions to this work. He is greatly missed (8/8)

We also identified an interesting dynamism of repressive histone marks. H3K27me3 compensated for the lack of H3K9me2 in lots of regions, similar to what has been observed in ddm1 and mddcc mutants. Kind of cool that this actually happens in wt backgrounds and is not an artifact of mutants (7/8)

Surprisingly we found that CMV's viral silencing suppressor protein 2b interacts with CLF. This is somehow preliminar, since we don't know how this interaction affects H3K27me3 homeostasis. From our preliminary analysis here it looks that it might promote CLF activity (6/8)

Indeed we identified that mutants in CLF (a catalytic component of PRC2) are resistant/tolerant to CMV infection. In line with that, CLF represses several genes during CMV infection that might be connected to symptomatology (5/8)

We observe that ,basically, all the epigenetic marks studied (DNA methylation and repressive histone marks) are dynamic during stress. Indeed, histone marks are probably more dynamic than DNA methylation (4/8)

We performed ChIP-seq (H3K9me2 and H3K27me3), WGB-seq, RNA-seq and sRNA-seq at two different time points of CMV infection: onset of symptoms and clearly-developed symptoms. Our idea was to identify how all the epigenetic marks correlated with gene expression (3/8)

Here we analyzed how multiple epigenetic marks (K9me2, K27me3 and DNA methylation) change during virus infection (cucumber mosaic virus, CMV...not to be confused with cytomegalovirus) in Arabidopsis. We tried to fill a little gap of genome-wide analyses of histone marks under (biotic) stress (2/8)

I am delighted to share our latest work on the biotic stress-epigenetic interplay. This was a true collaborative work between the three first co-authors of the work. (1/8) academic.oup.com/nar/article/...

Heterochromatin reorganization associated with the transcriptional reprogramming under viral infection in Arabidopsis
Abstract. Epigenetic mechanisms are key regulators of genomic integrity and genic expression. Emerging evidence shows that epigenetic dynamism is an import

Happy to share the results of a long-haul post-doc project, now online @science.org, aiming at understanding the rules of transgeneration epigenetic inheritance over TEs in plants and its extent and impact in nature. More below! doi.org/10.1126/scie...

Transposable elements are vectors of recurrent transgenerational epigenetic inheritance
DNA methylation loss at transposable elements (TEs) can affect neighboring genes and be epigenetically inherited in plants, yet the determinants and significance of this additional system of inheritan...
