Twenty-five-year-old Morgan was tall and blond, with a face that was both angular and round, her brown eyes framed with gold-rimmed aviator glasses. Her buoyant voice was pure Irish-American Southside Chicago . . . She was part Grace Kelly and part the daughter of a hard-drinking, blue-collar father

@heavyweight.bsky.social Listening to the epilogue to the "Tony" episode. At about the last 5:35 marker (46 min in), Tony's words are cut off, and a partially sliced newsletter promo follows. Great episode, but perhaps a bit of re-editing at that point

My mother, a Holocaust survivor, died at 96, in 2023. She suffered a long and brutal marriage & a host of losses from the 1990s onward. I wondered if she ever had a "Jerry," but she was more buttoned-up than Deborah. Kudos to Deborah, who lives in the now through accessing her chemistry with Jerry.

"After first writing that story, which I’ve rewritten many times, I spent five years studying literature. I wrote many stories where the narrator comes to a realisation without content, an empty epiphany that leaves him unchanged." Faslane — Gabriel Flynn @gabrielflynn.bsky.social
