I was always a very ardent fan of the RNLI. Supported them on Lifeboat Day, always visited the lifeboat station or museum if there was one where we were visiting, etc. It would never have occurred to me for a moment in, say, 58 of the last 60 years that that would be a contentious statement.

Some good news. Coal has just slipped below 50% of China’s electricity generation for the first time: the amount burned is expected to peak in 2030. It’s capacity expected to be exceeded by solar this year. Long way to go but the coal addiction seems to be weakening. www.forbes.com/sites/curren...
