Needed some forced motivation to get out this morning but I'm glad we did. All the side roads around Hayfield are seriously iced over. Glad of our Kahtoola Exospikes, without which I doubt we'd have managed 7k run. Dogs pleased with their Musher's Secret, which stops snow balling between their toes.

A milestone on our way home from Hawes. Just happened to glance at the instruments. At first I thought was a series of dashes indicating a fault. Luckily there was a layby a short way ahead. Chrissie and I did consider waiting there for 11 minutes...but couldn't be arsed 😂

First outing on my new Sonder Signal ti mtb. Completely different to my old 26" Whyte. Different geometry. Bigger wheels (29"). Different gears (Sram) with a single chain wheel. Much wider bars. So it feels strange, though not unpleasant. The wheels certainly roll better over rocks.

Nice puncture resistant tyres for incoming mtb. Been using these for a couple of years now. All my bikes have a version of Schwalbe's puncture resistant tyres. Only one slow puncture with them in 10 years. Also, nylon Rockbros pedals 😊

After a protracted search for a motorcycle, I finally admitted to myself that, after 10 years out of the saddle, I'd be frightened to ride it. Instead, I've ordered a titanium mountain bike. Better for my health. Both mental and physical.

2 years ago had Subaru Forester at a main Subaru dealer for glowplugs. Cost was over £800. They took all day. Had the same job on our Subaru Outback, essentially the same engine, today. Charge was £245 and most of that was the cost of the plugs. Only 1 hour labour. Whaley Bridge Garage 👏👏

Been thinking of buying another motorbike. Not had one for 9 years. Contacted ins brokers. All their insurers refused to quote. One saying due to age. I'm 71. Online comparison site showed most ins over £1000. Oh well. Decision made then 😐

We're steadily working through redecorating our through lounge and open plan stairway and landing. Chrissie is doing sterling work with painting while I do general labouring. Today was a milestone as we lost our red seating covers. The dogs seem to approve ❤️

In May 2015 I set off on a solo bike packing trip from Lands End to John o' Groats. Within a couple of days I enjoyed a, legal, wild camp on Dartmoor, followed by a late breakfast at the Fox Tor Cafe in Princetown.

We're in the middle of decorating our through lounge and open plan stairs and landing. A big job we're tackling in 3 stages. Finished dining room bit and this aft I fitted a new radiator here. Old ones are from 80s when house was built.

Yeuky, slushy trail run this morning, but a chance to try out my birthday Kahtoola Exospikes. They're tougher, longer spikes than the Nanospikes, so well-suited to tricky, winter conditions. Slightly overkill this morning, but they did mean I avoided the silly dancing around patches of ice 😊👍

21 years ago. A couple of photos from my 50th birthday trip to Yosemite. The first is Chrissie and I at the ghost town of Bodie. The second is me at the summit of Mount Dana, 13053 ft. Second highest peak in Yosemite. This was at the end of a 7 day backpacking trip.

Just a different point of view here. This might be amusing IF everyone who followed a religion actually believed they knew everything, but, and here's a fact for you, they actually don't. Also I personally know at least three scientists who are deeply religious. Hence, this is seriously offensive.
