I often see posts saying eventually someone will find your story and love it. I honestly don’t know whether that’s true. But it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that *you* created it, and for that alone it is worth something; for that alone it is beautiful.

She eyes him speculatively. "I'd have you loosen up for the evening if you're to be in my presence the whole night."
Michael can't help but roll his eyes. "Then I'll bid you goodbye and leave."
"You can certainly try," Aurelia says haughtily. "You will not succeed."

To fulfill their daughter's wishes, he and Wriothesley put down matching vacation days to be processed at the Maison Gestion and the Fortress of Meropide, respectively. Livya gets what she wants, Wriothesley gets what he wants (kind of—first of all, he still thinks Neuvillette's birthday can be a statutory holiday, but for now, he's content with Neuvillette taking his vacation days), and ultimately, Neuvillette also gets what he wants.
Even the Melusines and the people of Fontaine get what they want upon finally seeing that the Iudex is ready to kick back and relax for the first time in years.
All in all, it is a victory for everyone around.

"I haven't been your senior in a while," Kaveh said. "Not since you left."
Alhaitham let the unsaid hang between them, finding it more than enough as an answer to the unasked questions.

"Not you," Sunday retorted sharply.

Rufus thought that it was a fascinating use of the word 'demand,' exacerbated by the sudden drop in temperature around him, with tension that a hot knife could slice through in one clean stroke. Even someone like him, who currently bore little to no knowledge of this world and the people in it, knew that he was in for an intriguing time with an interesting 'father'.
Even in a world much, much different from his own, it seems he's still destined to deal with stupid fathers.
