Preview for my piece for @genshinaltzine.bsky.social ! Kinich, Mualani, and Kachina switching Visions and Tribes?! Oh my! Lol If you're curious for more, alongside other amazing stories and artwork, pre-orders are extended until October 11th! genshinaltzine.bigcartel.com

“Liliuo! Liliuo!”
The crowd chanted this name repeatedly, reverberating their voices across the Stadium of Sacred Flame like a spreading wildfire; the
anticipation accumulating down in the center, too, steadily ramped up with heat.
Kinich stood shoulder to shoulder with his fellow countrymen in the bleachers, arms crossed and weight shifted to one foot, observing the fighters about to go head-to-head intently.
Liliuo, a veteran warrior from the People of the Springs—a familiar face at the Pilgrimage and on the frontlines.
The other, a young woman around his age, he’d guess. A member of the Scions of the Canopy, and a frequent finalist as of late. “Malipo” Mualani.
Without hesitation, Mualani struck first. Her hand reared back, Dendro adorning her fist in the shape of a snake’s open jaws, venom glands plump and long fangs ready to strike. Liliuo raised her Cryocrystal Cannon, catching the first fist and then the other on the weapon’s side.

Story preview:
“The merchants have rejected the proposal.”
Shenhe looks up from the document she has been studying for the past half hour, revision suggestions and notes already scribbled in the
margins of half the pages, to look at the secretary standing a few feet away from the desk, clipboard in hand.
“Why?” comes her question, flat and blunt, making the secretary let out a sigh in response.
“They claim the additional levy would make their operations
unprofitable,” the secretary replies, reading from the clipboard in her hands.
“Is that true?” Shenhe asks instantly, one eyebrow raised.
The secretary hesitates for a moment, as if Shenhe’s question is one she hadn’t expected to be directed her way. She glances around, as if looking for support, before her gaze drifts back to Shenhe, who is still resolutely staring at her.
“No…” she mumbles after a moment.

« Through The Looking Glass » 【Contributor Preview】 Next up in our exciting previews comes this thrilling story by our writer Mochi Mitchie, in which the Yashiro Commissioner Ayaka and her brother Ayato serve the Electro Archon, Yae Miko. 🦊 #GenshinImpact #genshinaltzine

A GENSHIN IMPACT ALTERNATE DESIGNS ZINE
Pre-orders until September 27
Story preview:
Long ago, when Yae Miko ascended to Archonhood, she declared that Inazuma would usher in the era of women. Of course, the old noble families protested the change, but the might of the spear-brandishing shrine maiden standing behind their kitsune leader quickly made them shut up. Forced to publicly accept the ‘whims’ of their new leader, the bolder ministers quickly adapted to the changes, while the more shrewd ones tried to find loopholes; unfortunately for them, a fox isn’t so easy to dupe.
After meddling with the Tri-Commission succession for the next couple of generations, making sure that if a daughter wasn't born—or if she couldn't, for some reason, become the heir—the wife would take over, Yae Miko made her second declaration.
“For all of you men shackled by obligations, this Archon of yours will personally patron those willing to escape those chains. Show me what you can do.”
At first, the Inazuman didn't understand what Yae Miko meant. But after she personally expanded the entertainment industry through those shackled men, they finally understood that their Archon was a breaker of gender roles.

Story preview:
“Mister Leifur, you are aware this is not a dog-eats-dog black market, yes?” A man’s voice interrupts, and Kaeya steps to the side so he can look. A Ratnik, with eerie eyes and pallid skin.
Still, it does the trick, as the man hurries to apologize, plays the last several minutes as a joke, and even hands Kaeya a wool headband as a gesture of goodwill. The proper contract is signed and Leifur rushes off.
“Thank you for interceding, though I assure you, there was no need.” Kaeya laughs, offering his hand to shake. “Shady businesspeople exist everywhere. I’m Kaeya Alberich, Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius.”
The man shakes his hand, smiling in a friendly manner, though his eyes stay eerie and his lantern continues to unnerve Kaeya (Abyssal energy…?). “You may call me Flins. It seemed like you had it under control, but anyone as capable as you knows the value of time.”
“You flatter me.” Kaeya laughs.
“Not flattery if it’s true; I watched your discussion for a bit. I must say, you’ve given me a wonderful first impression of the Knights of Favonius.”

“Ayato… Remember, no matter what happens to the Kamisato Clan in the future, you are our eldest son, Ayaka's elder brother… A successor the Kamisato Clan is proud to have.”
When the Electro Vision appeared on his desk that one night, he knew what he was going to have to do.
His parents had been teaching him the basics of leading the clan for most of his life, his father in particular taking control of much of his education. Days and days upon end, he studied, practiced, and learned the foundations of the role he was to inherit. He lived through assassination attempts on both himself and his sister, dedicated hours to learning his clan’s history and their relationship with the Shogun, as well as other things the gentry were expected to master.
With the Vision in hand, he knew that his plans needed to be tweaked.

Powder-blue hair, like strands plucked from the silk of the sky.
Amaranthine eyes, a mirror to the finest sunset spring has to offer.
Two horns on either side of her head, a concession to the symmetrical preferences of mortal kind.
A shy smile, the quirks of a mouth quite unused to this form but all too eager to accustom itself to it.
Ganyu, she calls herself, and it is by this name she also makes the careful trek to the village and introduces herself to the kind folk milling about, who are all rather ecstatic to be in the presence of a mystical creature like her.
They ask her all sorts of questions—is she a unicorn from this stretch of the valley, how long has she been curious about the simplicity of
humanity, how it is she is able to walk on two legs after spending the majority of her existence on four lithe hooves.
May I touch your horns? A boy asks, to which Ganyu vehemently shakes her head and brings her hands to her protrusions, explaining that they are sensitive.

Laughing, Ifa stood up and held out a hand to the stranger. “I’m Ifa, that’s Cacucu and Paimon.” When the woman didn’t take his hand, he let his drop to his side but kept smiling. “You know, you can’t just pass through Natlan, especially not with our tournament coming up. You should stay a while and enjoy it.”
The blonde hesitated.
Ifa slammed a fist on his palm as a realization struck him. “You met Kachina, right?”
Now that he said it, Paimon did remember Kachina mentioning a blonde stranger. With renewed interest, Paimon studied the woman once more. What had Kachina said? This was Lumine, the Traveler with a reputation, the one who had traveled from country to country, and everything changed in her wake. She was strong and powerful, facing dragons and archons alike. A hero from a fairytale.
Everything about her seemed so far removed from the idyllic world Paimon lived in.
Lumine nodded. “Yes.”

Through The Looking Glass - @genshinaltzine
PRE-ORDERS OPEN until September 27
Story preview:
Barbara admires Liyue’s opera scene a lot. The presentation is more elaborate than Mondstadt’s, with a heavy emphasis on costuming and live sound. But she doesn’t understand how that helps Alice’s point.
“If anything, Liyue’s opera is even more traditional than what we do here…”
“Well, I’m not talking about their opera, I’m talking about their pop music!”
“Pop… music?”
“Yes! There’s this girl, Xinyan; she’s the first I’ve successfully converted into the idol business, and she’s doing pretty well for herself. But even before that, Yun Jin was already innovating in her own way. That’s why I’ve got my eye on her, too.”
Barbara tries to process everything Alice is frantically throwing at her. She’s heard of Yun Jin before, a pioneer of this new ‘rock’ genre that has taken Liyue by storm. However, she’s never personally listened to Yun Jin’s work herself. And she’s never even heard of this Xinyan…
“Huh. You really haven’t seen what’s been going on over there, have you?”

Story preview:
He swung his gaze to Jean, panicked and desperate to maintain some semblance of control over the situation. “That’s the problem,” he snapped, something he would surely regret later. “I-I don’t want anyone’s pity. I want to be useful… If I’m not useful, then what do I even—” he was cut off as the cathedral doors slammed open.
“Hello, hello~ A certain angry nun told me there was a party happening here! Well, a pity party; and well… she didn’t actually tell me, I was hiding behind a bush, but that’s neither here nor there! I simply sensed that my services were needed.” Venti finished his speech in a mock-serious tone, leaving the other two occupants to stare at him.
Jean spoke first, her face unimpressed. “Venti, this really isn’t the time. Kaeya is in recovery and not feeling up to visitors.”
Venti moved forward anyway, completely ignoring Jean’s dagger eyes. “Ah, not to worry, my dearest Jean! I’m actually quite skilled in the therapeutic field, being a musician of such high standing; I even offered my services to a large, angry dog once. And I’m still here to tell the tale, so I must be doing something right!”
Kaeya watched, baffled, as Venti essentially tossed himself onto the foot of his bed, sitting down and crossing his legs with a grin.

« Through The Looking Glass » 【Contributor Preview】 Next up in our exciting previews comes this emotional story by our writer @darquedeath4444.bsky.social, where Xiao, upon being rescued by Morax, ascends to godhood as the newly-made God of Nightmares. 👹 #GenshinImpact #genshinaltzine

Through The Looking Glass - @genshinaltzine
PRE-ORDERS OPEN until September 27
Story preview:
Morax forces himself to remain calm because the young god’s lips are quivering, his body is shaking, and he looks scared.
They stare at each other for a moment as the last traces of the nightmare give way to reality. Xiao takes a sharp intake of breath, and suddenly, the world starts moving again.
Xiao throws himself back and away from Morax, words flooding from his mouth. “I—I did not mean to, Lord Morax. I did not—”
“I know,” Morax says immediately, because he does, and yet, it is only when he raises a hand to ground, to reassure, that he realises his own fingers are trembling.
Xiao flinches away from his hand, then appears to forcefully ground himself.
“It just—I cannot control it—”
Most young gods, in fact, cannot, but Xiao’s case appears worse than most others Morax has come across. And if the reason is all in Xiao’s head, like Morax suspects might be the case, there is not much else but time that will allow him to overcome it.

« Through The Looking Glass » 【Contributor Preview】 Next up in our exciting previews comes this captivating story by our writer @azzandra.bsky.social, where Alhaitham becomes a musician instead of a scholar and joins the performers of the Zubayr Theater. 🎼 #GenshinImpact #genshinaltzine

Through The Looking Glass-genshinaltzine
PRE-ORDERS OPEN until September 27
The first time Alhaitham touched a musical instrument, it was a simple child's flute, carved from wood and unadorned. The principle by which it worked was simple, and he grasped it intuitively: air blown through it made a sound. Covering one or more of the holes along its length changed the kind of sound that was made.
He was still young then, but he had already developed a kind of single-minded focus in pursuing subjects if they piqued his curiosity. Whether others thought it was something he ought to learn or not made little difference to him.
In those early years of his life, Alhaitham's interest lay in languages, and so, even though he found that the Akademiya could not hold his attention for very long, he still spent his carefully portioned allowance on whatever imported books he could find at the second-hand booksellers down the street from his grandmother's house.
