Good morning from King's Urgent Care Unit. I've got a minor hand injury that the GP couldn't help with, so I'm just in a queue at A&E. Seems ridiculous, and I feel guilty for taking up space, but here we are. Anyone want to take bets on how many hours to come?

I'm still reeling from the news that so many #UniversityOfNottingham faculty received letters of redundancy. 600 jobs to go, across loads of schools including the Business School. I just can't quite believe it has come to this. Shocking mismanagement. Thinking of my ex-colleagues & professors.

Participant lists for events: It's just occurred to me how helpful they can be for some people facing social anxiety about attending events, or needing to avoid certain others (cf. #MeToo). But am I missing an ethical issue with sharing lists of registerered attendees? Privacy...?

I feel guilty about spending the day reading research. Is that because it doesn't feel as 'productive'? My job title is 'Reader' for goodness' sake! Something has gone awry...

I'm reminded of a seminar with Doug Holt, a marketing prof, who'd worked on segmentations of US citizens & what they needed to act on climate. Some people *wanted* to be told how to live, they wanted direction. Others needed incentives. Others needed different frames again.
