Meaning is linked to the idea of understanding ourselves. We have self histories, timelines, a temporality, causal knowledge, psychology etc. - this is more than just a self narrative. Meaning may also be in fleeting temporary moments. Nice morning read. drb.ie/articles/jus...

I enjoy the luxury of socialized medicine - back in my country, a lot of hospitals make profit off of sick ppl. It’s Boxing Day in the U.K. The origins are from feudalistic times - where rich ppl gave their servants the day after Xmas off. They’d also get a box with leftovers, thus the name. Today, it’s a commercial sales event or another day with friends and family. Have a good day. 🎁

According to this study of Christmas, ppl who emphasise the receiving of gifts or spending money had poorer wellbeing than those who emphasise spiritual experiences or time w/ family. Implication? Materialism undermines the “Merry” in Xmas. 🎄 link.springer.com/article/10.1...
