As many #genealogy folks flock to #NGS2026gen in Fort Wayne, IN, I’m reminded of our #genchat last year about the Allen County Public Library. I’d love to hear about anyone hitting the ACPL this week & how it went, as well as the conference itself!

#RootsTech I'm done for today, but my parting thoughts are: - being proactive in noting which records will/will not be available at a specific place & time; this helps eliminate unnecessary searches. - the importance of a research log/a record of what exactly you searched for. - timelines!

You know what would be an interesting #genealogy topic that I haven’t seen much about? Migrations between Ireland & Scotland. Some of my ancestry indicates this & I’d like to know more. 🇮🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Genealogists of Bluesky (and by extension #genchat ): When you have multiple possible ancestors or ‘aspects’ of a family tree you could look at, how do you decide which you’re going to tackle each day? Do you just jump straight in? Have you a list? Locations or thematically? I’m really curious.

So I invite all my fellow #GenChat peeps to take a look at Genealogy SE, to read the help, and think about how using a problem-focused approach can help your #genealogy research. If it's too nerdy for you to join, I get it, but you can still use the Q/A format as a framework for forming your Q.
