I just had the scariest nightmare that almost drove me to tears and woke me up in a sweat and it consisted of multiple different things - being completely unable to speak clearly, having visions of things, being in some sort of mental hospital, paranoia… I have never been that frightened 😭

It’ll be interesting to see fellow genealogists’ thoughts here given how rarely our historical experience & knowledge coincides with the more “famous” or “bigger” elements of history. For me, it’s that we have oversimplified linguistic history & language developments WAY too much.
