When I was 17, I'd have told you with a straight face that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was actually a very cool and surprisingly sophisticated show that foolish older people just didn't appreciate, but unfortunately the series listened to its critics and got dumbed down for kids from Turbo onwards.

I don't think it's denial as much as a lack of maturity and a chip on their shoulder. The Star Wars prequels were absolute cultural laughingstocks SO completely for SO long. If you grew up loving 'em anyway and had to be confronted with that, you may be inclined to reject that it was even *real*.

I think it's more likely now than it's been at any point since the mid-90s. I would LOVE to see it in a mainline game, like you want me to get invested in a serious Sonic story, that'd be the hook, but it's *most* likely to happen first in some free to play mobile junk.

Woah, I was like 10 years past paying any attention to Pokémon Discourse by that point, but people were saying this game was UGLY? Really!? Not that it's the highest bar, but I've always thought it was the best-looking mainline Pokémon we've ever had.

Not just the designs, but the whole vibe of the marketing was so dark and gritty, like don't worry, this isn't like that cheesy lame-ass 90s show that you have so much love and nostalgia for, fuck you. They'd realized the error by the DVD release, but it was too late.

Oh, plenty. But I think the brand's greatest mistake was that the 2017 movie - which I actually liked a lot! - seemed so unabashedly ASHAMED to be a Power Rangers movie. Reminded me of the 2000 X-Men film, but we should've been lightyears past that by 2017.

He's fast, got the cartwheel, the Chimpy Charge rules, his double jump thing is super fun and feels great, and the rocketbarrels are stellar - and I love that I inherently knew how to hover with them because I'd played Pilotwings three years earlier, the N64 was such an island unto itself.

Then in mid-08, I spent $450(!!!) on this 20-inch 720p set, and it was the most glorious display tech upgrade I've ever seen. The 360 looked INCREDIBLE. The Wii looked... not so great but at least it was widescreen? The PS2 looked godawful and I officially stopped playing it here. :V

It wasn't too bad, but I got in pretty early. I got my 360 at the end of 07 and most games still supported 4:3, but I played Sonic 06 on my CRT with black bars on the top and bottom.
