1 of 6 #scotsfoundedfootball I saw a wee piece from Jimmy Hogan in the Sports Express 1954 (courtesy of the Glanville compendium). The ref JT Howcroft recommended him for the FC Dordrecht job, which led to the Dutch team. JT got him sorted with a job in Vienna in 1912. A prophet without honour?

1 of 5 #scotsfoundedfootball OTD 1898 the Dell was opened for Southampton FC of the Southern Football League. The visitors were Brighton United: a fleeting club that was a good example of the mania in Football in Southern England at the time. The SFL was four years old but it was a strong child.

Two clubs later he is with the Providence Clamdiggers 1925 and then the Fall River Marksmen 1928. Brilliant names!
