This is exactly how Alabaster chose us. He gave my husband daily hugs in his classroom until we gave in.

So if you're a lexical deviant who wants to have their way with language and needs a bit of room to do it, and maybe a cleanup crew for when you're done, I might be the perfect editor for you. I said what I said and I'm not sorry. Thanks for making it all the way down here. Cat tax!
Alabaster's OnlyFans page is full of toe beans pics just like this one. Yes. Look at the toe beans. Lovely little toe beans. Alabaster is an orange and white cat who is curled up asleep on a fluffy towel. His toe beans are on full display. Showoff.

Sometimes these arguments about what's right or wrong make it into the general discussion, like singular they, which surely has been repeated enough to be standard after several hundred years of usage. It seems some people never came out of the caves, though. Aaaanyway...
Politico headline: he, she, they: the pronoun debate will likely land at the Supreme Court. And the trend doesn't look great for transgender kids.

This picture makes me sad. Trans rights are human rights and Trans kids deserve protection.

But romance novelists are like, "Hold my prosecco" and the next thing you know, minotaurs aren't safe anymore. Suck it, Homer. Neither are doorknobs or cutlery or whatever the unhinged hell they think of next. I doubt genAI would come up with household object–based smut without explicit prompting.
Unhinged. An erotic door romance by Vera Valentine. The number on the door is, of course, 69.

The thing that makes us human is our ability to innovate. We try new ways of doing things and see if it's better or at least more fun. Go back to the beginning: the stone age. They didn't just make good cutty things. They also made art.
Bison licking insect bite. Stone age art. A carved stone in the shape of a bison body. The head is carved in relief, in extraordinary detail, turned towards the rump as it licks itself.

When you're so dedicated to your proofread of a book about the Camino that you walk part of the Camino halfway through the edit. This might be my most amazing #Stetwalk so far. #AmEditing
I stand in front of the map at the Málaga start point of the Camino de Santiago. The route goes right across Spain. There are many paths but they all meet in Santiago. They're marked with cockle shells and the Camino symbol. Stunning churches all the way. It's a pilgrimage, though many people do it. Photo: people rest on the steps of a medieval Spanish church.

It's Saturday! But - I've submitted a proofread of a vampire romance - I've done a first quick round (for word stacks, hyphen ladders, and bad breaks) of a sci-fi post-layout proofread - I'm onboarding my next proofread, of a combo litfic/historical novel - I went for a walk! #amediting #stetwalk

Alabaster is ready for his performance review. Over the past week he has: 1. Overturned two dustbins 2. Napped on two different beds 3. Trespassed in the neighbor's apartment three times 4. Sexually harassed his coworker, Peaches 5. Knocked over three, er, four glasses. #StetPet

Oversight is important, and Alabaster is a very diligent and attentive supervisor. At times, he can be oppressive, but only because the weight of his authority can be a bit of a pain in the neck and tends to increase overheads. #AmEditing #StetPet #EditorialAssistant

I tend to book up pretty far in advance because I work with indies and trad publishers. If you're self-publishing or seeking independent editing before submitting to agents, it's important to plan ahead. My next available slot for an indie novel-length project is in June. But I'm worth the wait. 😉📚💙

For example. From the Best Punctuation Book, Period:
Commas are separators. Often, a comma indicates a pause. But it's a mistake to think that the only guideline for using commas is to insert one in any place where a pause would go. For example, compare the following:
I talked to my brother Steve. (No comma. I have more than one brother.)
I talked to my husband (comma) Stan. (I have only one husband.)
