It's hard to sell people useless junk and make them look away from environmental destruction when those people are connected and happy.

comic panel meme showing Spider-Man lying flat on his back on the floor, looking up. A thought bubble above him reads: "THAT PAINTING LOOKS THE WAY I FEEL!"

In the upper-right corner of the panel is an inset classical oil painting of a woman lying pale and completely exhausted in bed under heavy blankets, staring blankly upward.

when my doctor asks me how I'm doing I say "I'll try to be brief," and then give them the extended uncut trilogy.

If anyone tries to tell you that people with free healthcare take unfair advantage of it remind them that the hassle of Going To The Doctor is more than enough deterrent against the misuse of resources, and often a deterrent against seeking care for real stuff lol

I am no longer explaining my chronic illnesses.
I'm only ominously referencing them like I'm a fantasy realm NPC dropping plot hooks:
• I am besieged by the affliction
• The ritual was successful, but it has drained me. I need time to recuperate.
• I can't do that, because of The Curse
• Dark forces are conspiring within me. I must conserve my strength to battle them.
• Unseen foes assault me. I cannot strike back with blows, but I can lessen their influence by consuming certain alchemical rites.

Chronic illness taught me that progress isn't always doing more.

Sometimes progress is knowing when to stop.

Resting before your body forces you to.

Saying no without explaining yourself.

And finally accepting that a slower life isn't a failed one.

two-panel meme featuring the cartoon villain Skeletor from Masters of the Universe.

Top Panel: Skeletor is reclining comfortably on a stone ledge in Snake Mountain, looking toward the viewer with a text overlay that reads: "Being sick is illegal in United States. Medical bills are fines for that"

Bottom Panel: Skeletor is shown running away down a skeletal corridor, holding his Havoc Staff, with a text overlay at the bottom that reads: "Until we meet again"

graphic featuring text superimposed over a sketch of a tall stack of paperwork and documents.

A system that forces people with permanent disabilities to repeatedly prove the obvious is not efficient. It is wasteful, degrading, and built on distrust rather than common sense.

Make it exist first... then leave it exactly as it is because quite frankly other tasks take priority sometimes. It's already good enough and nobody will spot that tiny mistake, and the fact that you created something in the first place is already an achievement

WHEN YOU HAVE A CHRONIC ILLNESS, THE ONLY RELIEF IS TO SLEEP. WHEN WE'RE SLEEPING, WE'RE NOT SAD, WE'RE NOT ANGRY, WE'RE NOT LONELY, WE'RE NOT IN PAIN. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS WE'RE NOT ABLE TO SLEEP.

Visual: A meme featuring three rounded text boxes arranged vertically over a background image of outer space, showing a galaxy dense with colorful stars and nebulae. Each text box has a semi-transparent purple overlay.

Text: The text within the boxes reads:

Top Box:
"Me: I should take my meds

Also me: *stares in dissociation*"

Middle Box:
"***3 hours later***"

Bottom Box:
"Me: Wait, I didn't take my meds yet"

I genuinely cannot tell if doctors are actually stupid enough to believe that everything is anxiety/psychosomatism, or if it’s a deliberate cynical defence against their own incompetence.

Children are small, inexperienced, and still-learning humans but they are fully human, here with all the rest of us, HUMAN, and you really cannot hate an entire category of humans without that doing something bad to your heart and mind.

Medical Burnout

It's a thing. You get so tired of explaining what's going on to nurses, only for the doctor to come in and know nothing.
Anxiety before appointments. that take everything out of you.
Phone calls, holds, chasing referrals and insurance.
It's hard to advocate. We try so hard, and then we do nothing. We just want to live.
Do we keep trying or give up?
The fatigue sets in.
We are burnt out.
