We have a history of net losses and may not achieve profitability in the future. We may not achieve or, if achieved, sustain profitability in the future... As of March 31, 2026, we had an accumulated deficit of $41,311 million.
We have a history of net losses and may not achieve profitability in the future.

We incurred net losses of $(4,937) million and $(4,628) million for the years ended December 31, 2025 and 2023, respectively, and a net loss of $(4,276) million for the three months ended March 31, 2026. We may not achieve or, if achieved, sustain profitability in the future. As of March 31, 2026, we had an accumulated deficit of $41,311 million. While we have experienced significant growth in revenue over the last three years, we cannot predict whether we will maintain this level of growth or when we will achieve profitability again. We also expect our capital expenditures and operating expenses to increase in the future, including our general and administrative expenses as a result of increased costs associated with operating as a public company and as we continue to invest for our future growth, including substantial capital expenditures to design, develop, expand, and maintain our technologies and infrastructure to support our operations. Our revenue could decline for a number of reasons...

Our AI segment has incurred significant operating losses since inception, and we may not achieve profitability in this segment, or, if achieved, sustain it, and there can be no assurance that the returns on our AI investments will be adequate to justify the capital deployed. Furthermore, the continued improvement of AI model capabilities has historically depended in part on scaling laws, the empirical observation that model performance improves with increased compute, data, and model size, but there is uncertainty as to how long these scaling relationships will continue to hold. As a result of these factors, our AI segment may not achieve the growth or returns we expect.

SpaceX being profitable depends on the creation of unimaginable new technologies that don't yet exist outside of Star[Trek/Wars]
Our efforts to support the creation of permanent installations on the Moon and Mars depend on the successful development and deployment of next-generation capabilities.

Activities related to the industrialization and development of the Moon and Mars require the successful development and deployment of next-generation capabilities such as fully reusable launch vehicles, including Starship, in-space refueling and propellant storage, in space communications systems, and other capabilities required for operations beyond Earth’s orbit. These systems involve significant technological, engineering, and operational challenges, including the need to develop habitable transportation and surface environments, and perform complex in-orbit operations. Solving these challenges will require developing solutions that are novel or untested and will require substantial capital investment. If these efforts take longer than anticipated, or if technical, operational, or engineering challenges arise in connection with these efforts, our goals with respect to the Moon and Mars, including government contracts, and other and multiplanetary initiatives could be delayed, modified, or cancelled and could materially and adversely affect our business, financial condition, and results of operations. Even if such goals are achieved, they may not generate meaningful revenue or achieve profitability for an extended period of time.

In 2025 SpaceX incurred losses of $2B on revenue of $18B. Its AI arm incurred losses of $6B on revenue of $3B. 'Many of these technologies are novel and untested, and may never be profitable'
Many of these technologies, systems and operational capabilities are novel and untested, and we expect to incur significant capital expenditures over a period of years before our AI products and services and other strategic initiatives, including AI compute infrastructure and in-orbit, lunar, and interplanetary industrialization efforts, become profitable, which may never occur.

so I've been quiet for a while because life and stuff but thought this deserves sharing because how tf is this still acceptable? Natwest online banking: Passwords not longer than 20 characters, cannot contain symbols or special characters, case insensitive, not hashed, can't use password manager!
Screenshot from Natwest online banking registration page. Passwords cannot be longer than 20 characters, cannot contain symbols or special characters.
When logging on you're asked to enter individual characters from the password, meaning they're not storing a one-way hash of the password and are storing it either in reversible encryption or clear text. This approach also breaks password managers because you can't copy/paste the full string.
I've checked and the password is also not case-sensitive.

Most often I use a french press for convenience but when I have the time (and because you asked) I use this drip filter, metal mesh so it doesn't need paper filters but then cleanup is more effort as a trade-off. On the go I use an Aeropress or coffee bags, depending on the travel arrangements.
Photo of coffee preparation.

A metal conical dripper filter sits atop a mug. The metal filter negates the need for paper filters, trading cleanup effort for cost saving.

The mug is red ceramic with a picture of a jovial pig on it and a blue handle, from Joules if you like it. Unseen on the underside of the mug is written "a little pig-me-up" - I'd show you but then I'd spill my coffee.

Besides the mug sits a blue metal gooseneck pout-over pot that allows better control than pouring straight from the kettle.
The old reliable french press sits unused and offended in the background.

Ignore the bottle of spent batteries, that's not relevant for the context.

don't ask.
excerpt from a news article, summary:
Law enforcement is investigating a former employee of DigitalMint, a company that facilitates cryptocurrency payments during ransomware attacks. The investigation, led by the US Justice Department, focuses on allegations that the employee made deals with hackers to profit from extortion payments. DigitalMint's President, Marc Jason Grens, stated that the company is cooperating with the investigation and that the employee was terminated immediately. He emphasized that the company is not the target of the probe and described the employee's actions as isolated.

DigitalMint, based in Chicago, has been involved in over 2,000 ransomware incidents since 2017, offering services such as incident response and negotiations with cybercriminals. The firm is licensed to transmit money in multiple states and is registered with the US Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. However, some law and insurance firms have advised clients against hiring DigitalMint due to the ongoing investigation.

Ransomware attacks involve hackers extorting victims by freezing systems or threatening to release sensitive data unless paid, with extortion payments often reaching millions. Experts warn that negotiators may not act in the victim's best interest if they profit from the size of the ransom. While ransom negotiation companies have become more professional, analysts suggest that victims are generally better off not paying, as it may encourage further attacks.
