Have I missed an SEO trend that might explain why the Oxford Mail stated Boris Johnson's age in the headline, intro and picture caption of this story?

We're redocorating the house for the first time in almost ten years and I'm finding myself strangely nostalgic about the marks and damage that's being repaired. Like the time my daughter threw her Weetabix at the wall, or when my son had a nuclear meltdown and scratched the paintwork on the stairs

Always fun when @garethtbij.bsky.social gets sassy
A screenshot from an article that reads: Michelangelo needed just three years to carve his sculpture of David from Italian marble, and it took only four years from the first uncrewed Apollo mission for Nasa to put a man on the moon.

Both feats of human achievement were completed in less time than the five years (and counting) it has taken auditors to deal with an objection to the accounts of crisis-hit Thurrock Council.

Auditors at the firm BDO have admitted they are still unable to respond to an objection that was submitted about the council’s 2020/21 accounts more than 1,800 days ago – longer than it took the Beatles to write, record and release eight consecutive number-one albums.

That was reported by the Echo as recently as last year. Now the paper has a very different stance, allowing Bartlett to rail against the "vigilante" label and boast that police are jealous that his group his showing them up.
020
Gareth Davies @garethtbij.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
The article quotes co-founder Gary Bartlett. Bartlett once created a Facebook group called Taking Back Our Country, and posted a photo of a gun facing the coast with the caption: "I've had permission for my business venture. I'll be placing these along the south coast at 250m intervals.”

The ‘irrefutable body of evidence’ stuff is nonsense. Whatever evidence they had was put to the independent commission. What possible benefit would there be in holding anything back? This stuff is just the explanation they concocted after the fact, which has been dismissed

Thing is, they would already have argued this and it’s been roundly rejected. The appeal isn’t a do-over. It will be on whether process has been followed, the rules applied, etc.

This is the biggest scandal in PL history. Nothing else comes close. The integrity of almost a decade of football (and arguably every year since) is shattered. Nothing should be off the table in terms of repercussions, and that's before we get to the clubs (and players?) who should sue

Man City conspired to artificially inflate the club's revenues, and reduce costs, by more than *£900m*, and they did so in order to appear to comply with the Premier League's financial rules. This was systematic cheating on a breathtaking scale that undoubtedly provided huge sporting advantage
