In German she also now has this tick where she constantly says “geringfügige Richtungsänderung“ whenever I am supposed to make a turn that isn’t exactly 90degrees (This started two months ago, in iOS26 with no beta)

I had the issue that when navigating, Siri would sometimes tell me instructions in English. At first I thought I was hallucinating, bc no one had ever had that issue. My mom has also experienced that issue. I heard Siri say “at the next roundabout - gradeaus durchfahren“

I once got her to respond to a request for navigation to a place with “the maps app is not currently in use, so I can’t start navigation” (or something like that, it was some time ago)

I’ve changed from always having a case to not having a case and it’s so much nicer without the case 😂 (except when charging the phone, because the sides turn into a flatiron)

Sadly no, I will be in Spain, just not at NSSpain… hope you have a great time there!

Vegan is fine with me, art museums sound great as well! I want to see the city of art and science as well. It’s beautiful. I will probably only be there for a day

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 06/09/2026

Oh and actually, I’m going to Valencia after the conference. Do you have any recommendations? (It’s weird layover time again)

220

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 06/09/2026

Sure! It’s beautiful, I’ve been to Barcelona and Bilbao (for NSSpain) and those were also amazing! Big fan of the food as well. But now I’m looking forward to a cold shower…

120

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 06/09/2026

It’s great! Sadly, it’s veeeeery hot at 36 degrees so I am melting a little. 🫠

Mallorca? No, never been here. 🤩

On my way to IOSDevUK. Didn’t find a direct flight, where the Layover? Mallorca.

Yeah it’s this weird thing where it’s the same for me, and i think it’s impossible to hand in an image with the wrong resolution. And it’s only in AppStore connect, not on the AppStore…

Final verdict: needs more salt, dried tomatoes are amazing, can’t taste the cheese at all.

I cleaned my kitchen and found like four bags of polenta, so I decided to make cornbread? (I don’t even like polenta) I made mine with cheese and dried tomatoes (maybe it’s innovative, maybe it’s a food crime) but it’s gluten free!

I have booked my flights (well, not a return flight yet) and I will be at iOSDevUK this year! Super excited to be back in Aberystwyth again 🤩🤩🤩

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 26/08/2026

I’ll be speaking at CocoaHeads Hamburg next Thursday! 🤩 (I’m really excited but also I need to finish the slides now 😂)

Probably no travel budget this year, was thinking bout iOSDevUK but flights are kinda expensive…. 🫠 Hope to see you again soon tho!!!

Working on the next release for one of my apps. Why are AppStore screenshots always a so difficult? (Also why did I make a watch companion???? This wasn’t the plan???)

070

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 24/07/2026

Ok so restarting the watch did it. And then opening both apps to force them to sync.

140

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 24/07/2026

Has anyone here some tips for using TestFlight for an Apple Watch companion app? The build got approved, and it’s installed on the phone, but the watch app isn’t updating apparently… is there something I need to do? Something they can do?

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 13/07/2026

I really love when AIs speak of themselves as “I” as if they were people. As if this isn’t just to anthropomorphise them 🫠🫠

030

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 29/06/2026

Originally I wanted to write “You’ve been fisched” on the screenshot (for phishing) and then decided to go with a more serious alternative of “listen to your inner fish”

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 29/06/2026

My first iMessage sticker pack got published! 🤩🎉 apps.apple.com/de/app/lota-...

Mine looks similar, except if you look at the top bar where the target is. That’s where I only had the sticker pack target, and bc I didn’t add an app target, it only exported the sticker target when archiving. Hoping that this time it works!

000

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 28/06/2026

Got rejected 😭😂 I’m not even sure why exactly. The message was a generic “please show what the app does or why this is an app or how to log in” and i am not sure what I did wrong. It’s a sticker pack. It has stickers. That’s what it does. 🫠😭

110

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 28/06/2026

My sticker app is waiting for review. In the meantime I am working on some more stickers.

Ohhhh they are so cute! That’s an amazing skill! 🤩🤩

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 26/06/2026

Thanks! (I got stopped tho. The name I choose was already taken…)

010

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 26/06/2026

I am trying to make my own iMessage sticker pack. Why? Because so far I haven’t been stopped. So I needed some assets for the stickers. One Uni lecture later and I have these:

The food was amazing. 🤩

(I am still not sure what is included in the free plan) but I could record and transcribe there was no limit for that. My interview was in English, so lots of models available as well. German seemed fine too, but I only used that for a test. There are more models and speaker recognition in pro.

010

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 31/05/2026

The other solution would have been using OBS and tbh, I did not understand how that app works at all. (But to be fair, I only gave both apps about 30 seconds to either work the way I wanted it to out of the box or leave my laptop)

020

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 31/05/2026

For university I had to record and transcribe an interview, so I tried MacWhisper for it, and whilst I wasn’t sure if it was going to work initially, it actually was really good! Transcript is super solid, only had to change some acronyms, and adding speakers was really easy! Setup was easy too! 🤩

I was more looking for user numbers on Horizon worlds, decentraland and sandbox or Second Life. Are there any other big players in that space that I am missing? Do Roblox and so on count as metaverse?

010

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 29/05/2026

Sooo. I have to write something about “The Metaverse” and I have been trying to research some user numbers. Just for fun. (Ok it’s for a graded essay) one website claims it’s got 600mil users. Apparently they count Fortnite, Minecraft and Roblox and just add all those numbers.

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 27/05/2026

They also rev their car engine when they drive away…. 😂🫠 it’s funny in a way.

010

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 27/05/2026

Something I will never understand is why you would choose to use your cars horn to say “I’m here” when picking someone up late at night. (11:30-1am) this seems to happen regularly here tho.

120

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 26/05/2026

Well, I read it as -127GB used, so actually you’re creating more storage on your laptop. They owe you in that case

Apple has released the #WWDC schedule, including plenty of group labs and one-to-one appointments. Register fast because last year’s slots filled up quickly. Keep in mind that all times are already localized for your region. More here: developer.apple.com/wwdc26/sched... #iOSDev

I actually kinda liked it. We all thought “Feverdream” and it kinda reminded me of the IT crowds.

000

Lena @gans.lena.fancygoose.dev · 16/05/2026

Yeah it’s a new API. I think it was a part of iOS26? Or the one before that? I also thought I would have to use the same image generation interface like Apple offers for Genmoji. But actually you can generate images with ImageGenerator quite easily, and then show the when they are done.
