Many myths debunked in this paper. Paper finds that: -faculty partisanship has no effect on students -students ideologically sort into majors; majors don’t affect partisanship -faculty partisanship is uncorrelated with how left/rightwing course content is micah-baum.github.io/files/baum-e...

DO FACULTY AFFECT STUDENT PARTISANSHIP?*
Micah Y. Baum*
Joaquín Endara
Annaliese Paulson®
Abstract
We study whether Democratic college professors make their students more liberal. We link voter data to salary records from 33 state flagships and show that faculty skew Democratic, especially in the humanities and social sciences. We then use student transcripts from one flagship to estimate causal effects. Students become more liberal during college regardless of major and sort toward ideologically similar instructors. Exploiting plausibly random variation in when instructors teach courses, we find no effect of faculty partisanship on student partisanship. Text analysis shows exposure to liberal topics reflects student demand rather than instructor supply, leaving little room for indoctrination.

Councillors in southern Oxfordshire say they want to “provide trans and non-binary residents of our district reassurance that they will not be discriminated against in the provision of council services”, with resolutions at July meetings of both South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse councils.

Looks like this is some incredibly bad word -> html conversion -- the actual document is downloadable here standards.nhs.uk/published-st... under "Core Information Standard: Release Notes - Updated April 2026" Looks like they've added gender identity and pronouns to replace the old gender field

Table titled “Summary – Information model changes in this release.” It has four columns: Location, Data item, Update, and Detail.

Under “Person demographics,” the data items “Gender” and “Sex” are marked as removed. The detail states that these data items were removed following consultation.

A second “Person demographics” row lists newly added data items: “Sex at birth (observed),” “Administrative gender,” “Gender identity,” “Additional information about gender identity,” and “Pronouns.” The update is shown in blue as “Addition of data item(s).” The details state that “Sex at birth (observed)” is mandatory; “Administrative gender” is a required read-only legacy field for England only, representing data held by the Personal Demographics Service (PDS); and all other new data items are required in the core information standard.

Trans women are women, the SC, the bigoted billionaires, the hateful MPs, the grifting jopurnalists and the right-wing funded hate groups are all wrong. "You'd be crazy to choose this life if you didn't have to"

New progress pride flag dropped

A progress pride style flag. The horizonal colour bands are the decimal resistor number codes. The chevrons are the resistor tolerance bands

AAT weren't less persuasive at influencing media journalists. They didn't do badly at selling our message. The anti-trans worked top down. They had the media owners & chief editors already actively on their side. They used this power to impose one message across the media. It's always about power.

Exactly right. The House of Lords Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee put the timeline together here publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld5902/ld...

Screenshot from a report by the House of Lords secondary legislation committee. It says "The draft Code is subject to the negative procedure and can only be issued if neither House passes a resolution disapproving it within 40 days. This 40-day period will end on 9 July. To bring the draft Code into effect two further instruments are required: an order to commence the new Code (not subject to parliamentary procedure) and another to revoke the existing Code (subject to the negative procedure). In a scenario where neither House resolves that the Code be not made, we asked when the Government expects to lay the commencement and revocation orders. The OEO told us it intends to lay the revocation order “as soon as is practical” after 9 July, and that, once laid, there will be a 22-day period before the existing Code is revoked and the new Code is commenced."

Wow the conversion exception for healthcare providers is a MILE wide. Overt & explicit conversion against trans & gay people is FINE & not a conversion practice, i) when conducted by a healthcare provider ii) so long as doesn't 'fall far below the standards reasonably expected in their profession'

So near, so "far". Spot the difference the word "far" has in clause 1(3) of this draft Bill. Even if one takes this exemption seriously, why "far" below rather than below? This is an exemption which swallows the prohibtiton.

Since a genuine unbiased exploration of someone’s gender in therapy wouldn’t have the intention of changing their gender identity, and would therefore not need this exception

GameVsLife @gamevslife.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

Note the use of “intention” in this exception, it’s a glaring admission that the NHS’s “gender exploratory therapy” is conversion therapy with the explicit intent to deny the person’s gender identity

A screenshot of part of the Conversion Practices draft bill, as follows:

(3) Conduct which—
(a) is carried out by a person towards an individual with such an intention, but
(b) is carried out in the course of providing health care services to the individual concerned,
is not a conversion practice unless the person acts in a way that falls far below the standards reasonably expected of a person in their position.

We protested Michael Foran. We want to tell our side of the story. We are claimed to have bullied and harassed attendees. This is entirely false. We stood up, read out short statements, and left peacefully, calling on others to join us. He was still able to present his lectures after we had left, and the decision to cancel was entirely his own.If Foran had not cancelled the rest of the talks, this would not be newsworthy. We find it notable that the main result so far is that Michael has a nice article presenting him as the victim, whilst his supporters are calling for us to be kicked out of the University. Our oppression may be systemic, but our resistance is local, community-based, intimate. It is in the networks of friends, allies, lovers and exes, in the mutual aid and the DIY hormones and the day-to-day euphoria that we make.Don’t get afraid, get angry.Bibliography‘About WRN’, Women’s Rights Network, n.d. <https://www.womensrights.network/about-wrn>‘Anti Trans Organisations Exerting Powerful Influence Over Media and Politics, New Analysis Reveals’, Amnesty International, 21 May 2026 <https://www.amnesty.org.uk/latest/new-uk-analysis-reveals--anti-trans-influence-media-politics> Bindel, Julie, ‘Looniversity Challenge!’, Julie Bindel’s Writing and Podcasts, Substack, 7 June 2026 Foran, Michael, ‘Due to escalating disruptive protests’, X, 7 June 2026 <https://x.com/michaelpforan/status/2063577885928013833>For Women Scotland, ‘This is appalling’, X, 7 June 2026 <https://x.com/ForWomenScot/status/2063579462336118981> Halligan, Maeve, ‘When I talk about fear culture’, X, 7 June 2026 <https://x.com/MaeveHalligan/status/2063641664703320462> ‘Sex Matters’ advisory group is growing’, Sex Matters, 20 December 2024 <https://sex-matters.org/posts/updates/sex-matters-advisory-group-is-growing> Tait, Albert, ‘Oxford Professor Cancels Lectures After Abuse from Pro-Trans Protestors’, Telegraph, 7 June 2026 <https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/06/07/oxford-professor-cancel-lectures-trans-protesters>Women’s Rights Network, ‘In Conversation with Michael Foran, expert in equality law’, Youtube, 14 May

A small number of trans people from Oxford for Trans Rights staged walkouts, but the only students that faced bullying or harassment were those involved in the walkout who were subjected to the vile conduct of the transphobes in the audience
