Happy birthday to Robert McKimson. As one of the three mainstay directors at Warner Bros. Cartoons, he was there from the very beginning to the very end. He created Foghorn Leghorn, Taz, and Speedy Gonzales. #LooneyTunes

Close enough, welcome back The Compleat Tex Avery on LaserDisc
The front cover of The Compleat Tex Avery, a massive LaserDisc boxset released by MGM/UA Home Video (in conjunction with Turner Entertainment) in 1993 that compiled every single cartoon Tex Avery directed at MGM from 1942 to 1957. This marked the most comprehensive collection of his shorts until Warner Archive's Tex Avery Screwball Classics series were made throughout 2020-21, although a DVD collection focusing solely on his Droopy character also surfaced in 2007.

Here’s a hot take for you all. Boomerang THE CHANNEL should have been shut down in the late 2000s, early 2010s. Turner should have used the space for the general kids channel they always wanted, moving the CN Real and live action shows there, alongside a general place to experiment.

On October 11th, 1960, the #LooneyTunes went prime time on ABC with The Bugs Bunny Show. This anthology series showcased theatrical Warner Bros. cartoons. It is also one of the longest running programs in American TV history for 40 years until it ended its run in 2000.

I'M BACK #1970s #hannabarbera #mascots #logos #atari #pong
A piece of artwork themed around the 1970s. Some notable things and characters from the 70s included Time for Timer, Sugar Crisp, Bill from Schoolhouse Rock, Captain Caveman, Mr. Owl from Tootsie Pop, Josie and the Pussycats, Quisp, Loralei from The Electric Company, Punchy from Hawaiian Punch, the NBC 'Trapazoid N' logo from '76, the Viacom 'V of Doom' logo also from '76, the Apple II, and Atari's Pong. This also features the prism seen in the album cover for Pink Floyd's Rainbow album from 1973.

Have some concept art from The Prince of Egypt by Paul Lasaine. The detail in these paintings really is striking, especially knowing how they translated into the final film.

I just love looking at Ed Benedict's early designs for Hanna-Barbera characters. He embraced the UPA style and understood how to make these designs work within limited animation. He was one of the artists who gave the studio its identity in the early years.

Holding the L, ZL, or GL buttons on the Joycon 2 or Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller and pressing A on the new Hello Luigi! game will activate an easter egg that converts the icon into Hello Waluigi! This is merely cosmetic however, and does not change the game itself.

Due to time constraints, the USA release of Mr. Driller: Spirits lacked features versions in other regions would have. This included single-card multiplayer and the "Dristone" mode, where the aforementioned object appears as items the player uses to change the colors of blocks.

Better yet, if Dems win midterms and the Agent Orange days are behind us, setting up a film fund akin to those in Canada, Australia, and parts of Europe NEEDS to be a top priority for the next administration. It might not bring back the fallen majors, but it can help filmmaking thrive and survive.

A popular theory I keep seeing online suggests that Netflix could potentially swoop in to buy parts of Skydance for cheap once it inevitably crashes and burns, and while I don't entirely believe that they will be the buyers specifically, I also wouldn't be surprised if something like this happens.

Hopefully, Netflix's slate of theatrical releases they have planned do well enough to further convince them to expand its theatrical distribution footprint (or possibly open one), which given the company's overall scale and MPA membership would make them a major instantaneously.

They're actually pretty close to reaching that status, as a matter of fact All that's left is for them to launch its international operations (Sony is temporarily handling those responsibilities in the interim) and release the next James Bond movie, and they'll be all set

Universal has a good opportunity to become the last standing dream factory. Lure away talent (like they did with Nolan), snatch up excised visionaries, become the alternative to the Skydance slop machine on the way.

As for that second one you mentioned... there's a certain Norm McCabe cartoon (his last one for Termite Terrace, no less!) that hit theaters one year before Chips the Wisps did, and it's not just WORSE than the latter, but outright hateful, too.

Remove the problematic cartoons from the equation, and it's definitely among one of my least-favorite Looney Tunes cartoons out there (with Pre-Hysterical Hare, The Iceman Ducketh, and almost all of the Larriva Eleven being the other ones).

Considering that at least a 1/3 of Tom's altercations with Jerry stem from the former minding his own business before being interrupted (albeit indirectly), you could easily make a case for Jerry being the more antagonistic of the two.
