This seemed obvious to me upon reveal. Even comparing to OOTs development where they started with a rough 3D model of Link and then drew key art, I assumed they started this remake by first and foremost building off the original.

Did some light reading tonight since I haven’t been feeling well and it’s kind of crazy how the Skyward Sword Manga actually implies it was Hylia who created the cycle of reincarnation, at least for Link and Zelda. A hotly debated topic.

Re: OOT Remake - If YOU played the game when you were 12 of course you think the OG looks/plays fine. And it does! But for a lot of people who didn’t grow up with it, it’s from a bygone era of gaming with early 3D weirdness. Games just don’t hold up as well as, say, movies. And that’s okay!
