I am heartbroken to report that my sweet son James Strazza left us on May 4, 2026. His third book, Lowcountry: For the Eyes of the World, will be published in time for Severe ME week in August. I will post excerpts from it until then.

My adult son is 100% bedbound and can only travel by stretcher. I bought a whole house generator and hurricane shutters to hunker down in the event of a hurricane. Living on the coast in South Carolina a fire is not likely, but imagine very severe ME in LA!

My son James with #verysevereME is doing poorly. We’ve begun communicating with hand signals assigned to just a handful of his needs. My little sister is visiting me now, which gives me an emotional lift. Here we are walking my dog and cat in Sunday.

My son James Strazza started high-dose Taurine about 2 weeks ago. 500mg 4x day. (He’s very severe. I have to feed him 50% of the time) So far no improvement.
