Something AI is responsible for that doesn't get enough talk: How, when it scrapes a website to illegally steal everything on it, it uses up a ton of its bandwidth allotment, crashing it or racking up massive fees for site owners.

working on my hangout spot in #SecondLife , playing with the upcoming Lightbox features that will be in the next Alchemy version and having a fun time testing all the different options.

A snapshot of a scene in Second Life, it's an outdoors scene close to the ground, the grass is green and there are autumn trees behind an open green tent. The tent has a flashlight, and some bags inside. And the sky is slightly cloudy and close to twilight with violet and green auroras.

Anyone who sends you a DM to pitch their commissions at you unsolicited is very likely a scammer. I block every one of them. People who want to buy a commission will look for them. Scammers blindly contact everyone they see hoping to find a sucker.

Pro tip: you don’t have to comm artists to boost and support them. People claim they can’t support artists and creators because they are financially strapped, but they can still boost posts, comment, like, and in general just be supportive! It’s completely free outside of an internet connection ;)

Heartened by this — I’m currently dealing with backlash from a huuuuge comics org that made a splashy anti-AI announcement last year but then did not live up to that announcement and got big mad that I called them out over it. (I’m giving them a chance to rethink their decision before naming ‘em)
